The news of the Captain Bijaya Giri's demise in the plane crash was a particularly sad news for me personally. I had a chance to have a brief company of Bijaya several years ago when he was just starting his hobby of acting. We played in the naatak 'Romeo Juliet' (in Nepali) together. If I am not confused, Bijaya played the role of the Prince Escalus and/or Count Paris. I was the Father Friar Laurence. This naatak was written (translated) by Abinash Shrestha and directed by Ramesh Budhathoki. We rehearsed for a month in a corridor of Balmiki Campus and played it in the Rashtriya Shabha Griha. The main characters, Romeo and Juliet, were played respectively by Santosh Pokharel and Laxmi Shrestha. Bijaya used to fly his plane during the day and used to come to rehearse the naatak in the evening. He was a man of few words and a perfect gentleman. Young girls of our naatak crew were charmed more by him than the hero of the naatal, Santosh. I did not have chance to witness all the accomplishments of Bijaya in acting career that followed the Romeo Juliet, however, it was one of the best memories of my youth. With your fond memory in my heart, I am saying good bye to you, Bijaya. Good bye ! May your soul rest in peace !

When I was working in Agricultural Development Bank in Lagankhel in loan department, I remembered Vijaya Giri as a clint but later on he became as a brother. he has gentle but bold personality. I am socked since i came to know he is phisically gone!! but he never goes from my memory and my heart. At this movement I can only say good bye to you, Bijaya Dai. Good bye ! May your soul rest in peace !
