I know Sajha is your baby and you have every right to give it any kind of haircut you choose. But as a frequent clicker of your site, I too have every right to voice my grievances.

It looks like creative work is getting a very low priority in your new format.

1. First, the headings for Stories/Poems,Ghazals/Humor section are collapsed. Why can’t you display the five most recent threads and give an option of ‘More’ for these headings as well? Are we really that less important than ‘Kurakani’?

2. Kurakani & Classifieds & Immigration take precedence over creative writings. Call me biased, but I favor “Ek haat testai” over ‘Graduate Lady Wanted for Marriage’ any given married day.

I don’t know about other writers, but I write here because I want to reach to more people. I have always been as shameless as humanly possible about it. With this thread, I am only taking it to a new height of shamelessness.

I come to Sajha because nobody promoted me more than you did in the beginning (not even SNDY). I have always felt deeply grateful and a little embarrassed because I was not worth it.

There are some very good writers/poets in Sajha. I am sure I speak for all of them when I ask you: “Did your dingo eat my thread, San?” ( It’s a Seinfeld line, I have no idea what it means).

I hope you will reconsider. By now, Sajha to you must be more than just a product. Whatever you reply, please don’t tell me to do: “Hey sum_off, you can always click on ‘I like Old Style’."

The reason we are still humans is because we are so used to defaults.

those other sections have a glitch... they all try to open up from the top and the topics overlap the section

Yup, the first topic in the Classifieds section, for example, displays on the same line as as the section header - instead of a new line.

One other suggestion : it might make sense for a "More.." link at the end of each section ( presently only the Kurakani and Stories sections have it)

what happened to our lil' search engine? i know it used to irritate me for it used to ask the useless dates everytime i wanted to do a search but i needed it to dig into an old thread. i don't see it anywhere, or is it just me?

oh i just realized that the sajha search has been added as a custom search in google. BRAVO san bro but i doubt its efficiency as i tried to search a thread with the thread originator name and the thread title but to no avail.

San bro :

Hope you are breathing a bit more easily today after yesterday's release:) I imagine it must have been quite a bit of work to bring this all together. I had a couple of further thoughts I wanted to share in the spirit of openness and constructive feedback:

(1) I noticed a couple of new threads started were not tagged correctly by users and ended up in the wrong section. Also, because the other other sections are hidden by default, it appears that might serve as a disincentive to post on those sections and instead throw all posts into Kurakani. Unless tagging can be closely monitored or enforced, this model will not work well.

(2) The more I think of this, the more it seems to me we need a couple of more sections on the home page. A two pronged approach of educating the user base about tagging and enforcing it when necessary one one hand and having a couple of more sections up on the front page on the other might be something to consider.
