Gagan is a Royalist: Koirala

THT Online
Biratnagar, August 16

Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala today accused Gagan Thapa, former general secretary of the Nepal Students? Union (NSU), of being a Royalist.
Koirala, who came here from Pokhara after disagreement between two factions of the NSU at the 10 Convention, seemed rather aggressive, according to NC activists who met him in the morning.
?Gagan Thapa?s activities were suspicious from the beginning. I know that he (Thapa) is a Royalist,? district level party leaders said quoting Koirala, after the meeting.
Meanwhile, Koirala this morning ruled out possibility of a republican set up in the country at present.
Talking to party workers in Biratnagar he said: "Republic is just a matter of bargaining but its impossible in Nepal. Republic means throwing away of the monarchy but we cannot go against the King. The present situation of the nation is not favourable for the republican set up."
He said there is fear of anarchy and foreign intervention in a republic. Koirala came to his hometown last night without any prior notice. He is scheduled to return to Kathmandu tomorrow evening.

What is going on in Nepal, any body have any idea......?? How come a local icon is king's man. As stated by Koirala is Gagan really loyal to king????

Hehe, I participated in the election, both factions, kishore singh's rathor's and hari dai. Gagan was the sole candidate . By the way where is Hari Dai, he was a honest man, may be he couldnt make any mark in Nepali politics which demands more than honesty and simplicity.

I didnt knew gagan dropped from ASCOL, I met in Isc first year in TC, thought he was freshman

Atti bho atti bho,
what year did you participated in Election. When I was at TC Shankar Bhandari and Lok gurung were president and vice president respectively and Kisor Rathor used to dress up like ELVIS born in nepal with his (shirt color) pointed up. But once Shankar got caught for the Cheating scandal at Patan campus kishor came in the picture. But conclusion Shankar Bhandari was a GREAT guy and LOK GURUNG was ther best.....

HImalaya,

Twice bro, once when gagan was just a member, and second when hari dai ran for presidency, yea shankar bhandari was great and so was lok gurung. Kishore Singh Rathore , I never liked him and his black leather jacket. That man did not have any vision whatsoever, among the bunch of student leaders of TC, only gagan made it through. Kishore Singh Rather is just another clown in Deuba's gang of students.

Since then, there were two lobbies within NSU, one supporting Girija and other not supporting Girija. As fas as I know gagan was a supporter of Girija as he worked under tutelage of Shankar dai, hari dai, who at that time were considered to be supporter of Girija. Shankar was considered a hanuman of Govinda Raj Joshi and Ram Chandra Poudel, both from Tanahu.

Had shankar not been in the cheating scandal, he could have become something.

All the leaders then were weak in studies, either politics played a part in their studies, or the joined politics because they were weak in studies, but gagan was something different.

As he kept on with his political journey, we had thought this guy will definitely be something in Nepali politics.

Now its time to see how he handles the situation and live up to the expectations of millions of Nepalese

Gagan hanging with Bishnu dada and Paras was not in 1998.
It is a recent report by some of friends who came here recently.
They said, that's why people in congress party don't trust gagan.
