Your family could be the next target. The maoists are moving very fast instilling a sense of fear across the capital with their exploitation and lootings. They have been gradually destroying the sense of security in the capital. Now that they have unfettered access to all establishments and households, they have been seeping into the everyday lives of people through plain exploitations. The law is playing deaf to all Maoist actions. After Maoists have come into the political mainstream, life in the capital is slowly turning into a state of lawlessness. Maoist cadres have been entering households and looting with the help of guns and knives. If anyone resists they get severely beaten up. These maoists looters mostly target well to do houses and enter in groups mostly at night. There have been some looting during the daytime as well but most of these victims do not report to the police for fear of more retaliation. The looters warn them not to report to the police otherwise they would come back to bomb their house. The maoists are trying to control business functions as well as seen in their attempts to close up different industries. There have been cases where they have physically attacked business owners for not doing as told. What kind of democracy is this? Gradually the maoists are seeping into the everyday life of the capital and that too not by popular demand but by forceful exploitation. Today one person's house gets robbed. Tomorrow another person's house gets robbed, but noone speaks out because of fear of retribution. One day it's going to be your house and believe me that day is not far. The victims consider them lucky to have gotten away without any physical injuries or with their lives intact. What about the emotional scar that they carry with them for the rest of their lives? Who is to blame for this? And who is going to take any action against these looters? Things are getting serious in the capital now. Every one who is a middle class or upper class is a target of these atrocities. The widespread tales of looting is mostly kept a secret but chances are you already know someone personally whose house has been robbed or exploited under the threat of lethal arms. I have always been raising a red flag to the coalition of Maoists with the SPA because once the Maoists got into the capital, things were not going to be good. But now it's too late for that, they are already in the capital and their exploitations have begun. What can be done now? What can we do now? We have to think of something before it's too late. We need to mobilize some kind of defense against these armed looters.

Nepalese feling ashamed? I doubt it. Army and police are not going to help the current SPA govt. to curb atrocities of Maoists. They are basically degrading the SPA group letting people feel how ineffective these bastards are. So that people would clearly se two side of the coin - Maoists and SPA being thugs. I still feel that Army gonna come up with another coup in Nepal, the way they did in Thailand.

As per my family back at Ktm, these donation-mongers have been coming all around my neighborhood as well...and you all know what happens when someone doesn't donate. Seeing all this lawlessness and the SPA's inability to curb them, a coup by the army is inevitable and is absolutely necessary NOW more than ever!! The army needs to bombard the living daylights outta these commie bastards. Damn, I hate these free riders living off what someone else toiled for.

Don't you know that all those supporter of SPA-maoist are thinking how best to spin this story of maoists rampaging in the streets of kathmandu? Nepe must be wtiting gazals about maoists/SPA alliance and the glory of looting, Poonte must be dancing to his heart's content and singing the song of maoists and bravery in his patriotic garb and M.P. who the hell know what he is doing. Maybe shaking in his boots and peeing in his pants.

Having said it all.......one must know that the most corrupt institution in our country is also the RNA. Their flagrant and irresponsible behaviour (ransacking the villages and raping the women) in the past is one of the main reasons for the maoist uprising. I don't know if the military coup is going to be a long lasting solution for nepal at this time. I think Nepalese people are torn between the demon and the deep blue sea. I wish the UN or the world could see that we are going to be in deeeeeeep duddu soon and start taking major precautions...otherwise I wouldn't be surprised if the hell breaks loose and total anarchy takes over and....we turn into another case of mozambique or afganishtan. GOD HELP NEPAL....

Mr. Dahal hates anyone with the name krishna coming to rise (in power) and there is a good reason for that. He wants to be the charismatic leader for nepal and nobody else...how sick could this guy be....I came to know about this from inner circles...

HOw the hell can he be charismatic leader? Now he is no more facing the journalists coz their party decided that as he encounters the patrakars and open his mouth, his rating fell from 1 to 10. So the party has decided not to let him talk to patrakars.. that's why few days ago he didn't utter a single word while coming out of Makune's house where there was a meeting between Deuba, Makune, Maoists leaders. He will rot for sure.

Given that there is minimal, if not none, protection for common people in Nepal, it MIGHT make sense to allow citizens the right to bear arms. The key word here being MIGHT, as this does require more thought and debate. Why should only maobadis, khaobadis and your run-of-the-mill goondas, looteras, daku, chor have the guns? Sure cops do too, but they are not helping. So people might as well get arms to protect themselves. Nepal is almost like Wild West of 1800's.

Why doesn't the people come out and voice their dissatisfaction with the government for not protecting them or taking steps towards maoist extortions? Previously during the time of the king, the king's police/army wanted to look good in front of the International community so they tried to not be involved in public acts of brutalities. But these maoists don't care about the international community nor any Human rights issues. It's high time for the public to come out and demand things from the incompetent government. It's high time for us to start the change in Nepal. Resist the maoists. Together we can do it.
