DC Nepali School Transitions to Dallas, Texas ( School of Languages and Culture of Nepal )

“School of Languages and Cultures of Nepal” was inaugurated in Dallas Texas, USA on 22nd February 2004. This is a goodwill community collaboration of International Nepali Literary Society (INLS) and Nepal Society of Texas (NST). The objective of this school is to teach, promote and preserve Nepali language and cultures in young Nepali children. This initiative received overwhelming community response and parents expressed their satisfaction. There were five speakers in the event, including NST president Baikuntha Thapa, school Registrar Anjan Shrestha, Teacher Binni Rajbhandari, Parent Binay Manandhar and INLS Texas Chapter President Bhim Karki. Every speaker emphasized on the importance of this school and all community members pledged their support for the school. Temple Priest and INLS Vice President Basu Dev Bhandari conducted Saraswati puja and Saraswati Bandana. Youngest students Anusha Rajbhandari and Suyash Dhital lit Panas to inaugurate the school. The ceremony took place in a conference hall in Hindu Temple; Nepali refreshment was also provided. A nine-member education committee and a team of five teachers were announced and introduced by INLS Texas Chapter President. INLS/NST secretary Gouri Joshi hosted program. Thirty-five students started their classes.
