Surya, Sabnam Shrestha at Women in Floriculture (WIF) in Kamaladi, Kathmandu makes and sells dubo ko mala. She also trains people to make dubo ko mala. In fact, she'll be in Pokhara next week, to offer a training (Rs. 1500 per participant) on how to make "dubo ko mala" to flower-nursery owners there. She says that she gets orders from abroad too. She can have one or two dubo ko mala sent/mailed to you from Kathmandu. oohi ashu ktm, nepal

Surya, Sure, I understand. Still, for future reference to all other interested folks. Given that today is Tuesday in Nepal, and given that both DHL and UPS deliver from Nepal to the US ASAP and given that a dubo ko mala takes about three hours (from preparation to shipping) Logistically, it's possible to send a mala from Kathmandu on Tuesday to a location in the US by the following Saturday. oohi "promoting Nepali businesses online and offline" ashu ktm, nepal

If only I had asked about the malas a few dayes ago!! I could have possibly ordered malas from Nepal!! That would have been the best, my first choice. I went to a florist here to ask about having them make me a mala.. not dubo of course, but some flower one. The guy actually told me that a pair of malas would be $240!! What a rip off! I am going to make my own bloody mala with flowers from a street vendor. Herau aba. But next time, definitely will have to think more in advance. Good job on the business promotion there. You just won a new customer (albeit future) for that mala lady. :)

Dubo ko mala?? why Surya? a little bird told me you're tying the knot soon with an amrikan but in a typical nepali ishtyle, is that why? heh heh just kiddin....dubo ko mala ta haina but I can make malas of Marigold and also of Bougainvillea flowers and perhaps some others too. If you send me the flowers I can for sure make you one. :)

Little birds are hardly reliable sources of info Dilash! But they do sound good sometimes though don't they:) Anyhow, I would send the flowers to you, but you are probably too far away from where I am. Ani simple malas ta I also know how to make... well, we'll see if I still can:)
