Did you take this picture from Manakamana ko danda? I t reminded me my home. I have a picture that I took from the same place. It is nice to see picture from the place where I used to walk every day to go to school.
isolated freak Posted on 11-Apr-03 10:59 AM

its a good picture.

Arnico Posted on 11-Apr-03 11:17 AM

Nice sunset picture of Manslu and Himalchuli.

I wonder if you may be able to get it looking nicer though! I suspect that your scanner may have muted the colors a bit (that your print looked much better than the pictures looks onscreen now). You may want to play around with the color balance of your scanned picture a bit to see if changing the contrast/brightness/gamma for any one or all colors might make it look a bit nicer on screen...
You may also want to check whether you can scan at higher resolution, or a color setting more optimized for photos. Looking closely at the sky right above the mountain there are these jumps in color between large squares... a problem of the scanning...

Ok, I have to be honest. I hope you don't mind. How often have you seen this picture in your life time? Does this kind of picture adorn your walls or your friends'? RNAC used to churn out these types of pictures dime a million. Repeatition is boring. Try to see things with a different "lens." NOW THAT would be something interesting. An honest opinion to an honest(I hope) question.

At the end? Keep on taking picutres untill you find your own "eyes."
sparsha Posted on 11-Apr-03 11:39 AM

The landscpae is beautiful but not the photo, my opinion.

I am not trying to discourage you, forget-me-not, but I just gave an honest opinion you seemed to ask for.

I hope to see more pictures from you. There got to be some better pictures with you than the one you posted above. It always feels good to see the land and the sky I owe my life to.
Logical Sense Posted on 11-Apr-03 11:40 AM

Forget_me_not, it is a nice photo. On thing specially good abou it is, even the darkness in the hill displays lots of details. Many times the cameraman can't adjust aperture to provide the details like this and the dark side becomes real dark and looses the value.

Your question of 'how do I add more phtoto', just the way you added this photo. Upload the image and paste the properties.

Arnico has good suggestion for scanning and play with your colors. You also get lots of S/W to add the colors and cropping the photo etc. But, get ready for spending lots of time in the computer than you would like.

I like Khimu's idea of having Two People with Dokoes climbing the hills. If you have only two then it will not distract the natural beauty of the photo and would really compliment the photo.

So, if you wonder, how do I do that? No, we are not asking you to go to the site. If you have silhoutte (dark picture on a light background) of a person with doko then you can put trick of collage photography and superimpose them artistically (aesthetically, perspectively looking real) - so that they look real. Again, get ready for spending lots of time, but, result may be amazing.

Have fun.

Nepal is always good even if you are a worst photographer. Every piece of Nepal can be captured in a camera, it's a beautiful paradise. The above picture is good.
Aliciaa Posted on 11-Apr-03 01:45 PM

Where is that picture from?( I mean which part of Nepal). It's really great to have those pictures pasted in sajha. It would be great if you paste some more pictures.

good luck
