The three ministers are Minister Commerce, Industry and Supplies Mahesh Lal Pradhan, Minister for Education Devi Prasad Ojha and Minister for for Home and Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dharma Bahadur Thapa. No reason for their sacking was given. An official statement from the Royal Palace issued late Friday night said the cabinet was being reshuffled by King Gyanendra on the recommendations of Prime Minister Lokendra Bhadaur Chand. Political observers say the sacking and reshuffled will have major implications on the political situation. Prime Minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand took the portfolios of Commerce, Industry and Supplies, Education and Parliamentary Affairs that fell vacant. The Home Ministry has been given Deputy Prime Minister Badri Prasad Mandal. (rk) |
