Please add more of your tid-bits of news from liberated Iraq.

Having drawn out his gun to scare away a mob that was seeking to break into his shop, a Baghdad shop keeper was shot dead by US troops on Friday. In a crazy twist of fate, the looters escaped unharmed.

USadmits Mosul killings

I cannot quite recall which station it was, but it was either CNBC, MSNBC or ABC that broadcast the site of the last US bombing aimed at killing Saddam and his sons in Baghdad. The broadcast showed a crater, described as being about 20 ft deep, in a residential area. The houses next to the crater had been damaged badly. Locals told the reporter on camera that no one had come to inspect the place after the bombing, even though days had passed since Baghdad has been under US control. What was even worse is that while the US bombs were on target and hit the house they wanted to hit, they hit the wrong house. Saddam and at least one of his sons were in the house next door. A case of false "intelligence". 14 civilians died in the bombing.

Doesn't this demonstrate how US values the lives of Iraqi civilians? 14 dead and US does not even conduct a bomb damage assesment??? Even in a case where Saddam himself was targetted.

Did the US try to avoid civilian casulties as far as possible as it claims?
