I agree. It was a great show!! Don't you think Mr. Bishal is phenomenal? and so is dhiraj (the singer) :) Just a note for all the people who thinks we are losing nepali culture, it was a good example! |

Great Party...nice program...good food....hats off to you... organizers and volunteers....what a party that was!.... biratnagare, i'm more that surprised that you don't know dhiraj (narayan gopal's song..??) who actually have been in chicago for more than any other volunteers at the party.....if you know bishal, prasoon, and surya....you must know dhiraj.....may be you did but you just didn't want to acknowledge...that's fine....anyways, no biggy...as a chicagoan, i would like to thank you for writing such a good review....keep up the good work guys...specially, Bishal, Rabin, Dhiraj, Prasoon, Birendra, and Surya...a warm applaud.....hope to see you all at ANMA.... |

Why the heck does he have to be called "indian-looking"? Alot of Nepalese have Aryan looks, but does that mean we get our identity from our neighbouring country? Just a thought.. No need to discuss about this on this thread it if it doesn't deserve it! |

N not like warts either. N in case you're wunnering, I did check out the Rockies, they're as purty as a painted apaloosa. As for those Blue ridge mountains and Shenandoah valley, well, sitting high on a ridge at near 3500 feet on a summer's day.. A man can look down into to watch that river meandering its way past many a farmhouse. Those hills in the distance really look blue and oh so forlorn. Its not hard to imagine those covered wagons with oxen trudging through that pass that is now on US Route 50. N that apple cider taste real cool n tasty, served from a pitcher by a rosy cheeked farm gal. Yup, mountain mama, if you can get yourself outa granma's feather bed, you may wanna take a look at them hills that aint a rocky mountain high, even if its a long way from Elaine to Denver. There's blues in them thar hills. Ole Virginny, yeehah ! |

I had been keenly watching this thread throughout the day. I truly like the way Biratnagare wanted to appreciate the party organization and the efforts on part of the volunteers. But Mr. Biratnagare, you pathetically fail to recognize the true spirit of the appreciation by calling Dhiraj an Indian looking guy. He has to be truly a Nepali man in his spirit and deeds. Skin color doesn't make you an american or Nepali, I guess you know this too. By the way, the thread is getting deteiorated in the sense it was posted. May be Dhiraj has too many close friends who want to make fun of him as a token of cordiality, if it's the case then that's fine, otherwise you guys need to appreciate the efforts he has put along with his buddies for that event to make it a big success, as I have heard. I didn't get to go the party personally but I had my relatives( friends) who actually went there and had the greatest feel for the Nepali culture in a foreign land and were very very glad to see the party that was so great and grand. I would very much thank the organizing committe if they would be able to post some of the pictures from the show. And by the way there was a posting about handsome guys in Chicago a year or so ago which named Dhiraj as the most handsome dude in the windy city. Is he the same person as of the New Year party's? I would like to see his picture as well, whoever gets to post the pictures please make it helpful that I could identify him. |

It was a superb party indeed. I would like to thank to head chefand his volunteers in the kitchen and plus the servers. Without their dedications and efforts, party would not be possible.To cook and serve for almost 350 people is not a joke.Foods were delicious and khasi ko maasu with chala is in hit list.Cultural programmes were entertained.Duet Dance ekadasi bajarai ma......brought all nepalese jammin.That number should put on top ten list.Btw, What happen to that vote item number....?How did we get to know about it? Any ideas? I am all ears now. Last but not least, aakashai ma chil udyo udina bhana.....that song was totally good mannnnnn.Great job by that guy too. Anyway, bottomline is.... I enjoyed Chicago New Year Party and hope to get the same dedication in ANMA convention. I was thinking not to attend convention but this party impressed me very much......I already registered for the convention. Thanks! |

If you didn't then you need to go to school (?) to learn about enjoyment. You were critical of us for supporting the organizers and volunteers, I don't get a point dude..u are washed up...they deserver all the credits and no one can stop us from praising them, certainly not you. You have the right to put on your opinion, but you, yes you seemed to abuse your privilege. You don't have to see things from other peoples point of view but if you really want, we will help you to get your head up your ass, if you like it.. P.S. I agree with sailo Bhai that indeed it was a great nite. Waree Jamuna Paree Jamuna, Darpan Chhaya, Mathi mathi sailungema and rifle chhaunima dance were just superb. Bishal song and dharan dhankuta song are the two best songs of the nite. However, dhiraj song kept crowd entertained. He should stop saying "If you want Narayan Gopal, here I am". If can not match the legend. Dhiraj is good in different way and sang real well. Here are few comments I like to make: 1. Food excellent. Needs more organization on food distribution. Lack of volunteers on food table. 2. Lighting sometimes too bright and sometimes real dark. 3. Some of the audio quality real poor. 4. Bar Tender real good but drinks kept running out. Don't you guys know it is Nepali party. 5. Lots of non-nepali guest were present on the nite. Need to encourage this for ANMA. 6. Sound system could be better. 7. MC good. Pronounced names wrong but was entertaining. Lastly, it was a great nite! Keep up the good work. |

There wais nothing wrong with those things. Dhiraj does look like 100 % Indian, what's wrong with that? Just because someone unknown has said something about you that you don't like , you shouldn't give up on your hopes and dreams. You sing well and people did appreciate a lot about you. You need to go confidently in the directions of your convictions and passions, i know these are your singing hobbies and your identity as a truly devoted nepali to promote the nepali culture in this foreign land: please just don't give up on them. It might have hurt you personally; but you have been known as a public figure in the Midwest or at least at the Chicagoland among Neplese, there is some responsibility due on you too to live up to the hopes and expectations of the people in your community who tuly care for you and respect the talents you are endowed with.
