This is not commercial! Information I am providing here comes from my heart and I am very passionate about is benefit for everyone.

I would like to tell you a little about myself. I am Robin Pandey, born in Kathmandu migrated in the US in 1986. I graduated to Senn Academy(Highschooi) in Chicago and Northern Illinois University in DeKalb (B.S. in Economics), IL. I am an American citizen and I have a little business. I am also an Executive Member of Friends of Nepal in Texas. I appeared on a TV program called Asian Beyond 2000 in Dallas, Texas (Channel 52) in 1999. I am an author of a novel "Order and Justice". Army ROTC in college. I love alu ko achar.

Being in America for so long made me self-reliant, tough and focused. For a several years I did not speak Nepali. Now I am married and I speak Nepali with my wife. It is so sad what happend in Nepal. I could not beleive it for several days.

Living through this experience, made me stronger. Protected people like Royal family dies like that, what about people like us. So, I enjoy my life because I may not be here tomorrow. I take care of me and my family and help out as much as possible to my employees and friends.

I have been going around to a lot of Nepali gatherings and half of the people in the gatherings are either students or working, or working under the table kind of thing. I never understood the power of having a green card. The moment I stepped in the US, I had a green card. But, a lot of Nepali people say, I don't have paper (work permit). Some of these people are well educated in IT training. I felt that I should help these people; therefore, I started a web based business.

I know a lot of Nepali brothers and sisters are very concerned about the situation in Nepal. I also watch the news from Nepal. I also think about Nepali daju, bhai didi bahini without the papers, and for them it is an opportunity look into Asylum Visa.

"You may file for asylum if you are physically in the United States and you are not a United States citizen. You may apply for asylum irrespective of your immigration status, and even you are in the US unlawfully." You should definitely consult a professional before acting on it.

I know a couple of people have utilized this. These people first go to India and then go to Nepal to visit their family. You may not need it, but someone you run into may need it and want it. Let them know about it.

In the mean time have some fun!

Peace.

Robin

Dear Robin:

I don't know anything about you, but your motive seems to be fine,
so is your background.

I have seen a lot of Indians, who could start their own small
business, and bring their family and kids with them here because
they could get the green card.

In the meantime, I've seen a few Nepalese who have spent years
here, only to suffer from solitude and family-lessness while their
kids grew up in Nepal without the gentle paternal caress. Some
of those had started to drink heavily, and unbridled, and a few
others made trip to casino a few times a year to squander almost
all the money earned.

It is not endorsement of what you are doing. But If a Nepalese
working in USA can prosper more with green card, and if somebody
is willing to lend a helping hand, I don't see anything wrong.

USA is a big and generous country. It helped a lot of freedom
seekers and hungry souls in its past. Nepalese from Rukum and
other places who are now in America and in need of a good roof to
hide their head can profit immensely from a professional help
from people like Robin.

I wish you all the best.

Biswo, thanks for seeing a cause. Look me up, if you ever drop in to Dallas, TX then you will get to know me. Not only, Rukum a lot of people from Kathmandu living in Texas were interested in such visa.
