*****Autograph bharne??***** Those were the best of times and those were the worst of times. Living away from home have both pros and cons about it. It was also the time in Nepal marked by a bloody revolution. Though far from Kathmandu, a sense of uneasiness had begun to develop within us. Unable to comprehend what was going on in our country, we got scared. We knew we would be going home soon. We just didn't know when or for how long? THere was another subtle scare, that we might not see one another. I remember that morning in 1990, when we all rushed to the bookstore to get fresh copies. Yes, we wanted to make autographs too that had become a fashion in mainstream schools at the time. That was all to it. ANd it was not out of fashion. it was out of scare (RE KYA)! I was the happiest person that day when sushovan gave me his auto before anyone else. Name: Oys Nickname: Oyssi zodiac: a well balanced libra! Hello Oys!! This is such a nice thread. You know I too had a huge autograph which I'm sure is tucked away somewhere in my shelf back home. I wish I had it with me so I could fondly delve into high school reminiscence. Oh I really miss it now. :( I actually had opted for an unconventional route. In other words, since I stayed in a hostel for almost nine years, sixteen senior students got to know each other really well and shared a special bond with each other especially during the ninth and tenth grade which was when I prepared my autograph. So, having been dormmates and shared the moments of immense joy, laughter, tears, pain and what not, my autograph contained ten to fifteen personal (lighthearted) and some general questions for each of them and also for my classmates and some junior bahinis. I still remember one of my friends suggesting me to pursue Journalism since she thought my questions were very "journalistic" whatever that meant at that point of time. Anyway, now that I read this thread, nostalgia has creeped into me and I feel like boarding the next plane to nepal. :) Okay since you and Simpy have painted this virtual autograph, let me see if I can do so as well. Wow I totally forgot about the autograph. I have about 3 autograph with me which I brought it when I came here about 7 years back. I read through it sometime, thinking about the good old days. I don't even know where half of the people who filled out my autograph are right now. It's weird isn't it. I mean you know that person but you lost touch with them but at a same time reading it bring the happiness Autograph was a fashion back in early to mid 1990's. I don't know about others but I loved filing out the autograph. Best thing was when I would get my auto back from someone I really like or care about and I would just go to my room. Listen to Alisha Chinoy or Boyzone and read it over and over.............................................. Getting a little sensitive, he ha ha ha ha |

haha nuts: recently I had to do something so I asked my dad for 2000.. my ba was like.. 2 hajjar..?? bhayo ma talai ahile 500 dinchu, aani 15 deen kach-kach nagar .. and the worst thing is when your parents say, la talai paisa ta dinchu.. tara kina chahiyo bhan..phewwwwww you can't tell them you need money to get drunk or buy that cute girl some coffee or movie ticket.. so you just say, chahiyo k.. chaiyerai bhaneko.. feri.. kina chahiyo ta talai tyatro paisa.., aani you just say, internet ko rtirna paryo.. asti bharkhar tirya hoina?.. hoina tyo siddhyo.. kasto mahango ta..hoina aaba jasto mahango bhaye ni padhna chahincha k.. and "padhna" is a word that makes my parents give me the amount i need/ask for. sometimes, i feel guilty though.. but.. c'st la vie.. jiwan ma umer chada baadmasi nagare kahile garne? plus, napadheko pani ta hoina ni.. feri maile kamauda pani ta yeso ba aama lai gift-sift nakindeko hoina ni.. bhandai aafaile aafailai samjhaudai..i head to thamel.. k garnu.. ahile ta aluik birami parera ghar ko gharai thuniyeko ni 3 deen huna lagyo..:-) |

lst time i was in hadigau was to see the great tabla player of nepal.. homnath upadhya. i noticed that the place has lot more houses (may be due to influx of mao's)..lols and bhatbhatini supermarket is soon going to replace those local chamsur palungo joints for sure..last time i saw the owner of the sueprmarket in gairidhara..man that guy looked preety confused..may be because he dosenot know what to do with his newly created superfortune..poor gorkhey. blac_ |

HG jyu, The first quality of a leader is leadership and the ability to take action and take calculated risk. I have seen that in Sitara, in the form of communication. Sitara is neither shy nor afraid and does not hesitate to speak up another quality of a leader. Sitara is intelligent, understands issue very quickly and responds appropriately, another quality of a leader. Sitara is compassionate, very important quality to be in a leader. Sitara has vision, does not wear glasses (just kidding). She knows what she wants to do that is a vision and make positive impact in society. Many other qualities/traits comes with time and experience. I am sure there are many qualities that I have missed or not noticed. I have seen all the qualities of a leadership in Sitara. nope at least, i dont think so never been to calcutta except when i was in the 2nd grade quite an experience, though got separated from my parents inside the victoria museum i wandered outside some street vendor saw mero alapatra chala, ani caught a hold of me parents finally found me a couple of hours later sometimes i wonder what woulda happened if the vendor hadnt kept me by his side and id wandered and got totally lost gives me the shivers sometimes |

Hehehe Czar!! I went to bed last night musing what to write here after reading what Hahoo wrote above, also last night. This morning I saw yatri, tick and and all others had reproached about what was said of Sitara then saw Prem Charo , who is no one else but Hahoo himself, and his note of sitara being praise- worthy. Then comes Hahoo with a lame, hazy apology that needed correction twice. So i thought of not writing any at all and let everyone rest in peace. And here come you sire, sorta to rekindle the fire...it was already interesting, would be nice to find out how interesting it can get or even if there is any limit to that. Well then, here I join you in denouncing Hahoo's comments. I was apalled by his vicious comments last night, not just for Sitara and who is Sitara., but that wasjust disagreeable since it spoke of an evil minded egoist, who would not even hesitate to dress down a lady, tesmathi pani cheli beti haru...dhikkarr... I know three 'TRAVELER'. One is that described by poet LP Devkota in his poem, two are here in Sajha: One is the Yaatri who later identified himself as 'PASCHIM', and the next is Yatri a handsome looking Sajhaites with shining teeth. I am adding you also in the list, and please correct me if you are any of the above mentioned two Sajhaites. :) English is not my first language, and I often experience difficulty communicating with others in this GAI KHANE BHASA. The difficulty is more pronounced when there is lack of physical gestures emoticons are of little aid here, as in SAJHA KURAKANI. I am certain that this current 'fuss' may I dare say so also has more to do with this 'LAPWEC' (I mean, lack of physical-gesture in web communication), and speaks little about real 'intention'. And, last but not least, SITARA both beauty and brain personified one 'compund' question to you: Ke khayera hune ho tyasto? ADUWA CHIYA KAI KAMAL HO TA ? I've read couple of postings in this thread, perhaps not all. But from those I've read, what I gathered was that "Being more educated means you have no right to make mistakes sometimes...the more older you are, you should make lesser mistakes." Perhaps, it's true! I don't know at the moment coz I have yet to experience it...But, personally I wouldnot agree on the perception that I had...no matter how much idealistic I think and feel it is. After everything...when u look down there at the core of everything...all of us are humans and being humans we are not infallible. We are bound to fall and make mistakes. We complain about someone else hurting us...have we realized how much we are hurting the other person also? I am sure just like rude comments directed at us hurt us, the other person also gets equally hurt when someone else does the same thing to them. Don't we go through similar feelings? Comeon guys, stop sprinkling kerosene into the already heated fire. Talking 'bout Sitara sis, she is beautiful, gracious and intelligent. No doubt 'bout that! but HahooGuru dai also has a right to write his opinions. Doesn't he? Give him some credit also...I do believe SOME of the facts he was writing 'bout life r true. I know both of u know so much more than I do. Probably u need to teach me. I go to the previous postings of Hahooguru. He surely used vicious words to downgrade Sitara and has said things without proper knowledge and also said that it was based on years of observations and gallups. It absolutely surprises me that things such as these you have said maybe based on your own observations, but you have failed to realize the background upon which a women above the years of 35 is single. You have failed to ask yourself the question that, "what was the reason for a women to be single". Did you ever think that, "what circumstances opposes a women to not get married and remain single? There are lots of things that women go through which you and I would hardly ever imagine. You wouldn't even come close. This shows how narrow-minded you are. |

Aim: To leave the world a better place than I found. I love: God, My family, friends, quiet moment once in a while to put things into perspective; & a music that sweeps me off my feet. I hate: Honestly hate doesnot exist in my world. I might dislike something but I don't hate. Happiest Moment: Every moment when I realized and found my way back to the things I believed in and valued most... when I felt lost and empty. And when my or someone I cared for's hardwork got rewarded. Embarrasing Moment: Hm...quite a few! esp. when my brain/mind would take a vacation at unappropriate times when I most needed it. But honestly, can't resist the songs w/ heart throbbing rhythm that sweeps me off my feet like P.diddy & Uhser's 'need a gurl,' 'chaiya chaiya w/ sharukh & malaika.' Yum! .... Best Movie: Devdas, Moulin rouge, Waking the dead, cast away... Best Actor: George Klooney, Brad pitt, Sharukh, Tom Hanks... Best Actress: Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Connely, Karishma Kapoor... Best Personality: Mother Teresa, Diana Hayden, Penelope C... Best Place: All the places I have spent more than 2 years so far! Best Food: Hm...tough question! Anything that satiates my hunger...but good food that opens up my senses are always welcome! Not much of a food fan :-). Favorite Quote: One of the many, "In dreams lies our responsibility." Last words: Never hesitate to help someone in need! You never know that someone can be you down the road!...coz life is quite mysterious...filled w/ surprises. GIjyu; What is your horscope sign? Dynamic (300 postings in couple of hours) and quick witted (the killer one) -- are you aries? Or by reading the things you love, you sound more like warmhearted and loving, does that make you Taurus? Or for your love for music and admiration for beautiful things, you sound youthful and lively, now that sounds like Gemini to me. But reading the people/things you love, you sound more emotional and sympathetic -- oho!
