If you have typed with Nepali typewriter before, then it's as easy as typing in English. If you have not, then you can remember the days you just started how to type in English - the speed, the search for each strokes etc.

If you know the general layout of the Nepali keyboards, that is, the location of each strokes, then:
1. download a nepali font (there are many) any Nepali websites (Nepalnews.com, kantipuronline.com, nepalihimal.com, ..........).
2. Unzip the downloaded font file (if required)
3. put the font file in the fonts directory in the control panel
that's all you need to do, you are ready to type in Nepali

4. Open the word program
5. Change the font to nepali font (as you change from times new roman to arial)
6. Start typing

;femfdf s'/fsfgLdf kf]i6 ug{ k/]klg s]xL 5}g . ;lhn} 5 .

Thanks ??!

I dont know how to type in nepali and never used Nepali typewriter . I had already downloaded kantipur , himal and pretti fonts. Only problem is that I dont know the layout of the keyboards and it seems like there is difference betweent the layouts of these three keyboards too.

for example:
I tried to type but could not find the key to convert ka to ku in kantipur font.

Turning off the auto-correct options, specially the smart quotes option helps in this problem

Try drawing a keyboard on a piece of paper, and then try out each letter to see what it types... that way, you can come up with a keyboard map. Look at that until you start memorizing where the letters are.

Or do what I did: IMPORT FROM NEPAL TO THE US, a keyboard with both Nepali and English font printed on each key.

HEY RAI!!

GO TO LANGOO.COM AND OPEN AN ACCOUNT........TYPE YOUR MAILS THERE IN NEPALI AND THEN FORWARD IT TO YOURSELF ON YOUR ALTERNATE E-MAIL ADDRESS......THEN STORE IT AS YOU WISH!!

OR........SIGN UP ON WWW.SIFI.COM AND TYPE YOUR MAILS IN HINDI..........DOESN'T MATTER BECAUSE IT'S THE SAME ALPHABET AND THE WAYS OF TYPING AND WRITING........AGAIN MAIL YOURSELF TO YOUR ALTERNATE E-MAIL ADDRESS...........THE FILE WILL BE SAVED IN JPG FORMAT(PICTURE)........

OVERALL..........SIFI IS EASIER THAN LANGOO. BUT LANGOO IS MORE PERFECT IN TYPING NEPALI WORDS THAN SIFI.
