what is the significance of the piece of clothes hanging (I'm sorry, I dunno what that's called>>>if you get angry, don't eat me up, am jus lil ignorant but curious to learn :-) ) near the stupas etc. For example, when someone goes to climb everest or other mountains, they tie it when they leave. Why do they do that? Is it for good luck? And if it is than how does it work? Plz. someone be nice and answer my questions.
