trance [ traanss ] noun 1. dazed state: a state in which somebody is dazed or stunned or in some other way unaware of the environment and unable to respond to stimuli. 2. electronic dance music: a type of electronic dance music with a repetative hypnotic beat. dance [ daanss ] verb 1. rhythmical body movements to music. 2. music for dancing: a piece of music in the rhythm of a particular type of dance. ************************ The clubbing scene in Kathmandu -- though pale in comparison to that of New York, London and Mumbai -- is small, intense and getting there, so to speak. On another note, The Rox at Hyatt seems to be going downhill these days. The place does not have quite the cachet it used to have even a few months ago. Club Fusion at Dwarika's seems to be picking up its tempo. Here and there, other venues to party all-night-long have sprung up -- for the dressed-in-black crowd. Meantime, MTV-India and Channel V-India have been flying in their lissome VJs to KTM to host obscenely commercial parties at Yak'n'Yeti and Soaltee . . . for the usual all-dressed-up-with-money-to-burn-but-nowhere-to-go-crowd [Kathmandu's gays -- though they dare not call themselves that openly-- put on good programs once in a while, with good food, pulsating dance music . . . and once in a while they invite trustworthy straights (such as yours truly) to dance to ward off the stress of the office-work.] Do enjoy checking out some of the undergound and aboveground activities at. http://www.trance.com.np oohi "going clubbing when depressed about the usual desh-bikas-garnay thulo, thulo kura" ashu ktm, nepal

The best places to go culbbing (and for some harmless bar-brawls) is Thamel: 1. The Jump Club: You'll be jumping for 3 days sraight.. 2. The Fire Club: Feel that burning sensation. This is the place to bring out the fighter in you. 1 girl, 7 guys.. aani yettikai Fight. They should change the name to The Fight Club instead. 3. Woodland "dynasty" : Want "some". you get it right here. Just watch out for the "maiti-nepal" escapees. 4. BabarMahal Revisisted: This is, i have heard where Ktm gays throw their wahtever parties. But, most of the time it is "straight" party. the dress in red christmas party last year was one of the best parties i have been to in Kathmandu. 5.The Rox: thik Thikai..You are bound to meet whom you have to respectful "namaste" everytime you go there.. because tehre's always someone, biug shot that you know. Haven't been to the one in Yak and Yeti and didn't even know Dwarika's opened one too. Dance Restraurants are more fun.
