Everytime there's a Nepali gathering, girls and guys start a thread here trying to find the most beautiful girl or boy in the pictures. From long ago have each one of us (most of all) known how we desire the most good looking of all. Why does a good looking face, and a personality increase our heart rate? What happens in our brain when there's an attractive person in front of us? Or even more basic is how are we able to tell who is attractive and who is not? I'm more interested in how and why our brain reacts the way it does when it comes to beauty. Any psycologists/neurologist/brain experts out there? |

I am nothing of the abovementioned expert. For me beauty is all the respect one has and the way one conduct. Beauty is something that creates the world.If there would have been no beautyness there could be no peace.For instance you see the face of one,you like the way he/she looks.You could like her face but you could not like him/her later because of thee conduct. Some people compare beauty only with the physical attraction.They lost in the lust of the physical attraction and momentarily they wouldn't step back to say that he/she would give their life if needed.Well, sometime I think that there is a big big relation between the beauty and the shelfishness.Someone could praise the beauty because they want to own that beautiful object. There could be two types ob beauty (a) you could buy. (b) you can't buy.Sometime you could comprehend beauty as nothing more than the state of mind.Beauty is all in your way of thinking.One could like the same thing and you wouldn't.One could chase that very thing till the last moment of his life but you would just neglect and think that it is the waste of time.Well, there is also a co-ordinated relation between the vision and beauty. Like one has the sweet behave,caring attitudem and discipline but not good physical attraction.You could like her/him more than any other beautiful life and you can see the whole world of beauty in her/him.These days beauty can easily compared to the pure physical attraction and people suffered after the couple of years. The news would be (falana) has divorced.Sometime the real beauty spread in the certein society.Sometime beauty is also compared to bravery,compassion and distinctive attitude The beauty is all you got in your eyes. Beauty is not compared to one's brain but to the way of life in you are.Brain only make you think but the ways are adopted by the society. Talking from my experience, a hot chic doesn't increase my heart rate...nope, it does not...au contraire, it makes my sumfin' sumfin' stand up. Know what I mean? Beauty is a very subjective term, don't you know? Some of my friends reacted negatively(i.e. they thought she wasn't all that) when I pointed to a chic, who I thought was a bombshell. Clearly, they disagreed. So, what's beautayful and what's not? You see, I had come across a site once --now this site was basically combining images to determine what the average human looked like -- claiming that people whose facial features ball-parked the average were considered attractive by many. Also, it looks like this theory actually applies to every ethnicity, race, etc. In fact, I remember viewing a picture once, where a hot black woman and a hot white had many facial features in common: nose shape, facial contours, forehead height, chin shape, etc, etc, etc. In fact, to me they looked like twins, save for the skin color! Isn't that amazing? |

SweetP, that's one intriguing question but I do not believe we need psychologists or neurosurgeons to answer a question that has been part of LIFE FOR MILLION OF YEARS! The first thing however is that we are all in denial, we all want to prove to each other that beauty is not essential, however, no matter how much we deny, the truth stands tall. Consciously or subconsciously, we are seeking mates that are beautiful. Beauty signifies health. In terms of evolutionary basis, health is important for natural selection. The main purpose of human is to maximize its fitness (reproduction), so that we can give birth to offsprings that are beautiful(healthy) so that their fitness is higher. I am sure we don't think in these lines when we see a beautiful girl, but subconsciously, the hormones that have been developed over million of years begs to think in terms of sex, evolution, selection and survival :) (re kya) at least we don't fight as OFTEN like animals on who's beautiful! or do we? |
