The US govt has included the Maoists in their Terrorist organizations' list. It not a "fully" terrorist organization (the big 30+ ones) but its now included in the "other terrorist organizations" list.

? Don't sound like terrirorist groups. What is U.S. 's definition of Terrorism anyways? Not actuallyl U.S. coz saying U.S. would invovle all citizens of U.S., which is not the case. Ok. U.S.'s governemnt's definiiton of terririsim. Aren't they the one, who are trying to bring freedom to IRAQ? So, why are they classifying a group who is fighting for people's freedom as Terrirorists? Why do they annoy me sometimes? What's wrong with the government? What's up with them? Why are they pissing me off bigtime? &%^*o^*(^(p&(&(*&(&(&(*&9*&(089! Why do they have to drive everybody insane?

GI,

Don't look at the names. The names are often misleading. Not a single terrorist agency would name itself "Torture and Killing Organization". The etrrorist group will have names like Freedom, Revolutionary, Liberation, God's Soldiers , so that they attract more people to engage in violent activities.

I perosnally think that this US move has given more bargaining power to the governmnet , so the Maoists have to be very careful in putting their demands. Now, the governmnet is in a better position both strategically and economically.

GurL_Interrupted Posted on 01-May-03 08:25 PM

Freak,
Was Phoolan Devi's group also labelized as terrorists? If it was then personally, I found her group and her, relating more with the lay ppL than did the government.....which means, is the government terrirrist? Isn't terrorist meant to be someone who terrorizes people? I have found many instances where government has terrorized the PpL. more than anyone else. Rn't they very sly? To name everyone else who tries to resist their terrorism as terrorists. What an irony! I don't understand, why do good PpL. die sooner than bad ones? Pardon me Mate, Am jus ...!
isolated freak Posted on 01-May-03 08:43 PM

see, extortion, torture and killing are all forms of terrorist activities. those organizations involved in these activities are terrorists because they don't abide by the law, nor they have the authority by the state to carry on with their activities.

****

During an interaction program with a US career diplomat organized by my old-office more than a year ago, I asked His Excellency about the inclusion. His reply then ust astonished everyone in the hall. He said something like, Npal should work along with it's neighboring countries and persuade the US to put them on the list. Considering that the US policies take a long time to change, I am certain that this time India played an important role in making the US include the Maoists in the list. This means, both the Indian and the US governmnets are not interested in seeing BabuRam Bhattarai enter Sighadurbar in Kalo Motor.

Talks will now be interesting. Whatever the outcome, let's just hope that we will be able to live in peace and harmony.

GurL_Interrupted Posted on 01-May-03 08:54 PM

What a saddest case ever! Government is not a terrorist because they have the states authority to kill and torture anyone they want, doesn't matter if the person they killed was an innocent 3 year old child. They are still good guys because law allows them to do so.They want everyone to eat their shit w/o saying a word, Don't they? Anyone who tries to oppose them should be labelised as terrorists and be killed. What's goes around,c omes around. I won't be surprised if someday the ones who are beling labelized as terrorists take over and labelize the government as terrorists. I wonder, how would they feel then?
Look at hitler's regime. so according to the law, everyone who opposed hitler for his brutality were terrorists? Everybody knows he was the biggest terror ever! How can we overlook all the genocides that happened under his regime, when those ppL. belonging to his group kissed his shoes. I am not surprised if Nazis are trying to hide at the present time.
And if they ever cared for the peace, they wouldn't be double faced!

Disclaimer: it is not directed at u freak. They are just thoughts! I am more outraged at the moment because I jus watched a movie of such kind, where government killed the innocent lives brutally! So pardon me. Take care. Bye!

Girl Inturrpted,

Valid arguments.

BUt the government takes responsibilty of the killings and has some "legal backing" to its actions.

Good news to Nepali publics. Bad news to nepalis living and staying in USA, especially, to those who support and write articles in favor Maoists. Maoists will have restricted movements outside Nepal and India. Maoists will murmur ... how how huiyaa .... American as expansionsits ... their usual slogan. Nepalis will not go against America as easily as they go against India. Maoists are the breed of Indians.

The BRB who is under courts "hajir janau notice" was ranked and shaking hand with PM of Nepal, will babble around USA, our reporter's club will bring new surprises..... Girija kangressies especailly, Sushil Koirala and Ghusya Number 1 GRJ will be made joker in those gathering ......... where in paper everyone is invited as chief guests, as Rishi Dhamala last time did it, by making Chand as great joker PM. Rishi Dhamala is least trustable journalists of the generation, after he surprised everyone in the ill fated prize distribution ceremony.

Rishi Dhamala sucks.

Guruji,

I agree with you completely.

Someone had a pet cat for a long time. For everyone else it appeared to be a wild cat or even a tiger at times.

Now it is the time to skin the cat. Hence, you see knives being sharpened. That is why the cat is going "Meow" instead of his usual "Grrrrr". Understood?

Maoist declared terrorists: rightfully so, filthy communists they kill, terrorise loot and extort general public and DON'T EVEN PAY TAXEX on looting/extortion. Every person/organization who earn illegal money and don't pay US federal tax will be declared terrorists and that's that 'coz Stone Cold Said So.
maximum20 Posted on 02-May-03 08:39 PM

After nepal's goevernment takes the label of "terrorists" off the Maoists to invite them for peace talks, America's move to declare them terrorists is yet another example of the meddlesome nature of this evil empire.
7 years of killing each other and now both parties have decided to sit down around a table to carve peace in the country and this Big Brother tries to mess things up. We all know Maoists killed a lot of people. If the number of poeple you killed makes you a terrorist, american government is the biggest terrorist organization. This totally uncalled for move by america simply shows its desire to deepen the split within our country.
I hope this does not cause any disturbance in the peace process.
