Is there any trust worthy leader left in our country? I don't think so. Let's start with the Congress party with a "glorious" history. Their leader Girija has time and again proved that all he cares about is that kalo comfortable kursi in Singhadurbar and for that he is going to stoop as low as he can. Read a piece on the Kantipur national daily this morning, Girija's call to the King "Ghuda teki baxyos ki ta agragami kadam ma saath di baxyos". Agragami has become the most popular word in Nepal these days. Before it was "Kathit" and "tatha-kathit". For a brief period of time, "pratigaman" became the most popukar word,, but now, "agragami" has become the biggest hit in nepali politics. Everybody wants "agragami nikas" but what's the "agragami nikas?" Nobody seems to know the answer to this. For GP, Agragami nikas means reisntating the dissolved house and appointing him the PM. For Madhav Nepal, agragami nikas means him being appointed the PM. For Sher Bahadur it means, him being appointed the PM. For the Maoists .. well, they themselves don't know what they want. A report published by the International Crisis Web on April 10th had an interesting paragraph: The Maoists are going to the leaders of various political parties and telling them what they wnat to hear. In other words, the Maoists have a tailor made answer/thing to say to every leader of every party and unsurprisingly enough, everyone is buying the custom made remarks! Just watched the PM's speech on TV. He blamed the political parties for all the mess and I have no reason to contradict him. Yes, what were these leaders who wnat agragami nikas doing for the last 12 years? Didn't they themselves dissolved the Parliament three times? Didn't they start a new trend in Nepali politics i.e, horse trading? Now, that when we are progressing on the peace talks, the leaders are out there calling for a agragami revolution. They themselves don't know what they want so how can they expect us to know and particpate in this mahan agragami niasko andolan? Again to quote the ICW's report, the political parties are fearful that if a settlement is reached between the governmnet and the Maoists, they will be the ones to suffer. GP won't be able to enter Singhadurbar again in a Kalo motor.. Madhav Nepal will be left hugging Lenin's picture and Sher Bahadur Deuba will be staring at his picture taken with George Bush all his life and Mind you, if that happens, then nation will have to suffer serious consequences.. Its a Pratigaman.. Why is this government not throwing all these leaders into jail for indulging in rajya biruddha ko aparadh (crimes against the state)? I think that's the only place where they belong to.

just continuation of my random thoughts: Now, whom to trust. We are getting the 4 different versions of everything. The Maoists blame the governmnet for not taking the peace process seriously. The governmnet is blaming the political parties for encouraging violent protests. The political parties are blaming both the governmnet and the maoists for not giving them their fair share of the pie. And we, the sarbabhauma nepali janata ae just watching the show.. we don't even have the guts to say, hey, stop this stupid show, its not good at all. As Gokul said somewhere in another thread, we tend to forget easily. We are forgetting that the 7 eyars odf ongoing violence has left us in a huge mess. Ah! we don't care. We evn forgit that Girija was our PM once and he didn't come up with any agragami nikas. We tend to forget that the UML during its ruling and opposition days did not bring for4th any agramai nikas. What's wrong with our country? And this time, when we were moving towards somethingt construictive and productive, everybody is after agragami nikas. As if all these leaders have some kind of magic wand and in one touch they can turn everything back to normal. Hell with all this nonsense.. anyway.. maybe i should get a chilled carlseberg and think of agragami nikas. namaste
