Any of you heard of Unitrin Direct for car insurance? they are offering me a decent rate compared to other insurers. But I am wondering where they stand in providing car insurance. Any of you their customers? How can i be certain on their credibility ?

You get what you pay for. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. Stick with a known company.

Dude,
If you are getting just liability insurance cuz it's required by the state, I would say,"run for it." But if you want to get it for the sake of security, sit down and think.

BTW can you give metheir number???? I sure can use cheap auto insurance.

Adirondack,
I think I have heard about the Kempers, one of their subsidiary. I had never heard about Unitrin before though. I visited their site and the quotation module is well developed, I don't know if that can vouch alone for the genuity of the company.
As danggg said, if it were for the mandatory (basic) coverages then I wouldn't mind signing for it. Besides, you are paying the insurance as installment so they cannot reap a load from you. If you get the final insurance card from them in the mail, it has to be genuine as local DMV attests it. Check the company info on Better Business Beureau website.

Playa, u baad. Isn't it ironic, I didn't get the irony of the situation when I posted previously?

By the way, I am still thinking about the statement I made about local DMV attesting the insurance. If you are concerned, Adirondack, do check; I know for sure that commercial insurance can be verified by the FH-1 but personal?
Well, I guess, I don't think you should be thinking that much now.
