My friend is graduating ,his degree is MIS.He says he has applied for so many jobs but hasn't got any respnse.He looks frustrated.
Isn't there any jobs now a days in entry level in information system?He has done masters and he is not getting job.
May be he is not looking for a job in the right place.Can u guys tell him where he should look for the job?ANy idea?Any suggestions?Or any help?

BIdeshi , ask your friend to look for job in DC metro area. Even with the recent slump on the IT industry these days, the damp cotton has not been laid on it completely here in dc, for the fact that most of the IT companies are surviivng through government contracts. I dont know much about elsewhere. Also have him attend each and every job fairs.
Another effective way of landing a better job is through temp agencies. He should have a list of them and call them every day to see what they have. Temp jobs are invaluable these days for it gives a break in ones pursuit of career building in IT. it might be helpdesk, or data entry, ask him to take it, so that he can put that on the resume. These days, companies are looking for experience , not degrees, assuming your friend knows that.
Also doing some volunteer work does not hurt either, in free time. For example he could be assisting some old folks on how to surf the internet in an assisted living community, there by he will be able to put that on his resume too.
He should work deligenlty in netwroking too. Talk to neighbours, coworkers..no matter where he works now, friends, parents, sisters, brothers. In these days of slow economy, it does not even hurt hanging a placard on one's neck and going around saying "I am looking for a Job in IT industry".
