Those of you who have dreams to have a better life should be very very careful immigrating to Canada - consider it only if one is prepared to do anything for livelihood. So, here in Canada, many families have returned back home. Even a small survival job like working in Subway, or in a Grocery shop or working as a warehouse person is a matter of luck. Better say, it is like winning a lottery. Can you imagine? Moreover, you ought to be so fast that you should be like a machine not a human. It's all because slavery has to be abolished in Canada. I know, Abraham Lincoln did in US. Those who come to Canada from US, after unable to stay there, say Canada is a hell compared to US. So, my dear brothers and sisters! If you think life in US and Canada are same, you'll regret. Recently, two families have returned after SAYING NEPAL IS BETTER FOR US. MY EXPERIENCE ABOUT DEVELOPED COUNTRY IS THAT... THEY HAVE DEVELOPED THROUGH THEIR HEADS, NOT THROUGH THEIR HEARTS.

SelfExplorer, are you in Canada or US? Your posting suggests you are in Canada. One should not be comparing Canada with US. They are two different countries. But for Nepalese, getting into Canada is easier than into US. You have to rely on DV visas if you want to get into US (for those ppl who might not be getting study visa to US becasue of thier background such as age, family responsibilities and so on). Only young people can grab I-20s. For middle-aged person who is finding difficulty in surviving his whole family in Nepal, sometimes, Canadian immigration might be an attractive alternative. Everybody knows that these days immigrating to Austalia and NZ is next to impossible. As far as I know, Canadian Landing paper is a One-Way-Ticket. It is unfortunate that some families had to go back to Nepal after coming to Canada. The reason is very simple. They should not be applying for Canadian immigration at the first place, coz their return to Nepal clearly shows that they can live cozy life back home. They are quite un-prepared to take the heat in Canada. Life is hard in Canada.... for immigrating people... and desperate people immigrate to Canada... and that's why they keep on struggling. After all, it's not your birth/mother country... you are in alien nation.

Dear Sadabichar! I just wanted to share my experiences with my dear brothers and sisters. You are absolutely right about all what you said. But I still warn people who dream of having a better life in Canada. Can you believe? Getting a survival job is so difficult - you need to know someone working there. I am talking about jobs like bhariya, chyame, petrol pump attendant, retail salesperson, dhoke paale. If you get by luck, you'll be working at night. It's rare, husband and wife both are working full time. I am living a life of hell after spending all my life-time earnings in Nepal. Now, to save that much amount in Canada, will be like buying a home in Tokyo - almost impossible! I finished Dus lakh nepali rupees to become a janitor...what a fool I am?

Dear SelfExplorer: You are absolutely right about the job market in Canada. But, however, Canadian Landing papers are definitely One-Way -Ticket for many Nepalese. I have heard about those families who returned to Nepal, one of them is a Boss of Rashtriya Sangrahalaya. Perhaps he really wanted to find better future for the kids... but they could not cope with the environment in Canada. HOwever, they can still have better life in Nepal compared to many mnay average Nepalese. When one starts doing odd jobs in Canada.. you are earning almost nothing. It is also true to many many Canadians who failed to continue thier studies even upto High Schools.. and they too are struggling in Canada. For Nepalese, it's even harder to live life like that. People always think US is better than Canada... well, live in Canada for three years... then be canadian citizen, and then why don't you try to go to US as a canadian? I heard that even odd jobs there in US can give you good savings.

Dear Sadabichar, I appreciate your suggestion to go to US. But even canadians can't work there without a work permit. US and Canada is analoguous to India and Nepal. Canada's economy is totally dependent upon US. I just couldn't understand one thing - Unemployment rate in Canada highest among the western nations. But still, 250,000 new immigrants are coming. This is the thing I am always asking. Can you please give your comments.
