Khimu, I am afraid you will have to wait till next year if its the New York International Auto Show at the Jacob Javits Centre you want to go to. This year's show was from April 12 to 27, or thereabouts. Ya missed it ! The Bentley coupe, with its V 12 engine that cranks out over 600 HP, while all Connoly leather and polished burl n walnut on the inside. Hmm. you could even say it was a true 2+2, a bargain at $ 189,000. Tempted ? But wait, parked but a few yards across the aisle was the gleaming Maybach that would set you back a mere $312,000. Ifn you got the urge, might I suggest you register it in Delaware if you live in the Big Apple ? It would be a shame, all those thousands of dollars in car taxes. Donate even half the savings and you'll keep Oxfam in good shape for the rest of the year. Aah, now coming to the more plebian models: my pick was the Audi RS 6. Not much flash, just your standard Audi A6 ..till one read the specs: twin turbo-charged 4.2 litre V8 that churns out a whopping 490 plus horses and enough torque to twist the yin yang in a knot. ! Va va vooooom ! Sweeeet ! I am doomed to eternal damnation of one sided love..Audi oh Audi..wherefore art thou RS - 6 ?? Now if only I had that heiress in sight...damn n blast... sigh..la dame sans merci.. Dr. No's AMG Merc can make way the Audi RS-6 , yea....an Audi There was a glimmer of hope in Mercury's concept vehicle, but other than that the wheels from Detroits were..long on rim size, short on everything else. Chevy may have a winner with thier 2004 Malibu though, it has an edgier profile and interesting specs. I shock myself in saying that for styling, I'd give the Chevy a thumbs up. The boring Camry's n Accords were their usual blecchh. Nissan has a winner with the 350Z, no question about it. Seven months into production and its outselling the US numero uno Corvette. The Mazda RX-8, now thats some serious piece of metal and composite. A 1.3 litre rotary cranking out over 220 HP plus! And you know what the power curve is on them things. Hair raising ! Biggest disappointment: Jaguar is NOT producing the R Type Coupe they debuted in NY last year. The Land Rover and Bimmer bike sales girls - Top drawer, I tell ya !
