Dear Sajha Visitors and Well Wishers,

Beginning last week, we began allowing members to upload their own pictures. In addition, we began featuring members who have uploaded their pictures.

The essence of this is to make sajha more real by introducing real people of the community who have taken a HUGE step in coming forward to post their picture, leaving behind the safe anonymity provided by the internet. I admit it takes much courage to do so. That is seen by the fact that out of over 3000 registered users only 27 have uploaded their image so far - and some of them not their actual current pictures to be precise. That is less than 1%.

In my personal opinion, these people should be appreciated for being bold enough to introduce themselves to the sajha community.

An analogy comes to my mind regarding posting own images. Imagine sajha website as a huge living room where everyone is welcome spend their time, have a good time and share with each other or just come to observe others. There will be some people who come to the room so often they want to hang their pictures on the living room walls. Like in real life some people like to put their pictures up, some don't. I think it is unfair to NEGATIVELY comment on people who hang their pictures. Noone is being forced to do anything, except urged to contribute to the positive energy that could be generated by a community like this.

In the end, I would like to request all to not negatively judge/compare/belittle posters who have decided to share their personal pictures in sajha - essentially hanging their pictures in the walls of this virtual living room expressing their belongingness.

Let's all try to make this a positive experience for everyone! On the occassion of Buddha Jayanti, happy Buddham Sharanam Gachchami to all.

Best wishes,
San

Out of the 27 members, who have posted their picture (or something of that kind), only 4-5 members have posted their real picture. Even "San da man" himself posted his childhood picture..... Jhan Oys_chill ko ta ke kura: AAFNO NAPAYERA, BAU KO CHILDHOOD PICTURE RAKHECHA.

One thing that bothered me was why do people put someone elses picture?
This idea was created so people would reveal them self with no hard feelings
attached, if they don't feel comfortable putting their own picture then they
should not use someone elses picture either.

I kind of do understand why many people don't have their pictures coz they
don't feel comfortable and I totally respect that.

No Offence to anyone.
