These idiots are crying foul...Who cares if its politically motivated or not? As long as the proper legal procedure is followed and innocents are not unjustly declared guilty, I would not complain if its politically motivated. A criminal should be brought to justice... TopGun *************************************************************** CIAA move politically motivated: NC KOL Report KATHMANDU, May 17 - Nepali Congress (NC) slammed the issuance of letters on the very first day of their second round of protest by Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to summon political leaders for interrogation as ill timed, prejudiced and politically motivated. The central committee meeting of NC on Saturday confirmed the move by CIAA is conspiracy to defame top leaders of the political parties and disrupt the mass movement, said Arjun Narasingh KC, spokesperson of NC. NC is all prepared to challenge the move by CIAA politically and legally. He added distraction of the mass movement by such an act is only a daydream. He stressed on the need of transparency in activities of CIAA and report of Judicial Probe Commission on Property (JIPC). The report of JIPC is kept under mystery and used as a weapon to attack on the political leaders to keep them at distance from the people, KC said. Earlier the CIAA issued letters to 42 politicians and bureaucrats including NC president Girija Prasad Koirala to summon them for interrogation based on the report of JIPC. (bg) CIAA move prejudicial: Nepal KOL Report KATHMANDU, May 17 - General Secretary of CPN (UML) Madhav Kumar Nepal has expressed suspicion over the Royal Nepal Army supporting the royal move of Oct. 4. Reiterating his stand on RNA that should be kept under peoples representatives, he said, It is still in dark whether the root cause of present stalemate is the RNA or the monarch himself. He claimed that the foreign powers sympathized over the present mass movement and now laboring to win hearts of large people inside the country. We can gather support of international community if needed, Nepal further argued. Speaking at a program at Birtamode, Jhapa on Saturday, Secretary Nepal said the issuance of letters to political leaders by CIAA is prejudiced and guided by political intension. The act of CIAA is intended to disrupt the mass movement and to defame the leaders publicly, Nepal further added. Speaking at the same program, a standing committee member of CPN (UML) K.P. Oli said the matter of armys movement for a sovereign state is not an arguable issue. It would bring misfortune for the country if the Maoists and the armies divided the sovereign land between them, warned Oli. (bg)
