The 7th edition of Entrepreneurs Forum will take place in Kathmandu in the middle of June at Hotel Radisson. Mr. Banwari Lal Mittal -- a well-respected English-/Nepali- and Newari-speaking Marwari businessman and chairman, among others, of Shree Airlines Pvt. Limited -- will give a presentation based on the ups and the downs of his life as a businessman in Nepal. In addition, to promote a sense of authentic dialogue across ethnic groups, I have requested Mr. Mittal to talk openly and honestly about what makes the Nepali Marwaris such an enviably prosperous and financially well-placed business/ethnic community in Nepal. Entrepreneurs Forum is a regular but deliberately informal event. It brings about 60-70 young Nepali entrepreneurs and businesspeople -- usually running their own businesses -- together to learn from the experiences of an established Nepali businessperson . . to share ideas and knowledge and develop professional connections with one another. The presentation is usually followed by a Q & A session, which, as always, is lively. Past speakers at the Forum have been: Shyam Kakshapati, CEO of Nanglo Restaurant International Sanjib Rajbhandari, CEO of Mercantile Office Systems Raghu Shah, CEO of Himalayan Telecommerce Prabhakar SJB Rana, ex-Chairman of Soaltee Group Padma Jyoti, Chairman of Jyoti Group, and Ambica Shrestha, President of Dwarika's Hotel If any of you business folks wish to attend this forum, send me an email at ashu@sajha.com oohi ashu ktm, nepal |
