It would be a grand mistake to close St. Mary's and St. Xavier because of Maoist agitation and student walkouts. Students must not be allow to rule in deference to older wiser leadership. Nepal education is already a laughing joke. How can we support the closing of the schools which have worked so hard to educate Nepali students. The closings will set back Nepal 500 years in development.

did you see those young kids taking out julus for free education? I am shocked to see them young kids out in the streets...did some congressi teachers take them out or what? I just dont understand..keen yesto lawlessness...

I am really agitated by this news. Enough is enough. Our nation's future is severely being hindered by this obnoxious, down right wrong student's movement.

Bhenda2,

If I am not mistaken, those young kids in uniform are rallying for uninterrupted schooling, so that is good.
ruck Posted on 21-May-03 07:54 AM

It's time the old boys association of St. Xavier's do something to stop the school from closing down.......

Why aren't the parents of these school going kids come to the streets rather?????

Disturbing News...

Even though Fr. Maniyar has threatened to permanently close down STX and possibly other schools run by the missionaries, I don't think the action is imminent. He said, "If the people of Nepal do not want us, we are even ready to leave Nepal." We all know, and I am sure the Jesuits in Nepal know, that barbaric acts by a handful of hooligans do not reflect the true sentiments of the general Nepali public.

Being from Budhha I feel ofcourse a certain rivalry with the STX guys and an unusual attarction to SMS girls, but it would be a DAMN shame if they were forced to close because of the current idiotic protests. Nepal (ok that may be overstating it)...KTM will lose a part of its history and that would be a crying shame......

I am sick and tired of these Bastard of Politicians meddling with our Educational systems. How the hell are we supposed to progress if kids keep walking out of classes ? These stoooopid Idiotic morons(also so called politicians) do not seem to get this in their thick Skulled heads. There must be someone directing these kids(kids don't just walk out like that). This needs to be addressed promptly and seriously...How the fk are we supposed to progress if these fkers keep hindering our path of progress....I am sooo fking frustrated by this news...This is total bull
