Chakrapani Upadhyaya "bikshipta" was sick and tired of spelling his name. Every time he mentioned his name, the other party would ask "can you please spell your name for me?" Mun lagi nalagi Chakrapani would say "Si" "yach" " ye"---. He does not remember any one letting him finish spelling his name in one breath. "Si " "Yach" "Ye" bata "Ke" mapugna pako hunna, the other party usually would interrupt with "C" as in Charles? Yach lai dui tin choti bhannu parthyo---"Yeich as in Henry? The other party would ask again. Kina yasto garho jabo charkapani bhanna lai? Sajilo chha ni "charkapani". " Hami mu** Rabart,, Arthar, estesi, sabai ramrari bhandinchham ta milara. Yiniharu lai jabo chakrapani bhannu paryo bhane chit chit" Chakre thought and smiled but he was worried.
Chakrapani was known as Chakre among friends in Nepal. "Tara yaha aba afule afailai chakre bhanera chinauna ni bhayena".he thought "Chakre ma ali thor achher bhe ra bhanna sajilo ta hunthyo hola khairelai. Tara afno nam afaile kasari bigarnu?" He could not suggest Chakre. Then he thought may be my "taital" is easier for these people. He tried "bikshipta". No one was lucky enough to get it. He had to spell again. "bikshipta" garho bho jasto chha, chakre thought and modified his taital a bit "bichhipta". He then found people always flushing one of his yaches (H) away from his taital. They would only write bichipta even after spelling three times. He also became sick in sayings "bi yach yach---two yaches there".
Churot ko dhwa lai chakka parera jhyal bata bahira fyaldai Chakre thought, "why my father kept such a difficult name for me?" Then he remembered his mom saying the name "Chakrapani" was given to him by Sadananda guru. Sadya pandit re chhakasaile bhanna nasakne nam ke dya hola malai? Chakrapani was a bit angry. Mero bauko nam hera na feri "dandapani" rey? Ke ho mu** dandapani bhaneko? Laththi le pani khani? Chakrapani bhanya mu** feri ke ho?
Chakre went to academic office for pre-registration for second semester. Aaja pani sodhos na "C" as in Charles bhanera mu** lai dekhai dinchhu---pel dinchhu ma. Chakre kept on talking with himself. Nepal batai lyako army color ko "paco" jhola bhirera he reached pre-registration place. Advisor lai bhetnu aghi nai desk ma euta khaire lathe ra arki khairi taruni basya re chhan. It was not crowded. Taruni paros malai-jai bhagwan bhada bhadai -khaire le "may I help you" bhanyo. "jha* pani pardaina" bhandiu ki bhanera sochyo but couldn't say so. Lobhi najarle khairini lai herdai khaire lai afu pre-registration lai aako bhanyo. "what's your name" khaire asked. "Chakrapani Upadhyaya" Chakre said.
Khaire ta chit khai halyo. Can you spell your name please, khaire said. Je khojya thyo tyahi bho---Chakre started "Si" "Yah"-- then he remembered and corrected "Yach" with "Yeich" "Ye" "Ke" "Aar---". Khaire paused and said "wow wow hold on---Si as in Charles? Aba pali aayo Chakre ko. Chakre le paco jhola arko khali seat ma rakhera mun mun ma bhanyo "aba peldinchhu mu** lai" Chakre le chadke najar taruni ma didai hakyo"Si" as in Charkhal---"Yeich" as in HaattisarYe as in Ekantakunathen he thought yasari ta ChEkrapani hunchhathen he correctedno no "Ye" as in Asan---[chakre was visualizing names with letters] "Ke" as in Kamalachhi"Aar" as in Ratnapark"Ye" as in Astaman "Pi" as in Paanipokhari"Ye" again as in Aringaal"Yan" as in Nepal, and "Aai" as in India bhanna lai sakya thyo feri jha* ni bhandina India ta bhanera jhatta sochhyo---"Aai" as in Indrachwok. Upadhyaya bhanna baki nai thyo---Chakre le dekhyo khaire ta charo khane chit bhaira re chha. "la yahi khojya haina tailechakre mun mun ma jangiyo". Upadhyaya ni peldiu ki bhanera sochtaithyo---
chheuki taruni khairini le pwakka sodhi "what does your name mean?" bhanera. Aba marena? tyasto tarunile sodhya bela Chakre had no clue what does Chakrapani mean. Twa paryo. Ke bhanne ke bhanne? Na ba (father) tyaha na sadananda guru! Ke bhanda taruni lai ramro lagla bhanera sochda sochda, akhirma Chakre said, "Chakrapani means good at heart."

Somedays ago, I was reading New Yorker. I think there was an advertisement from an oranment maker. The brandname advertised there was 'Chakra'. Something like Chakra jewelry .

Funtastic!! Great humor and well composed.. Reminds me numerous time when khaire's have failed to get my name with just two itsy bitsy syllable. Then have the audacity to say "Can we call you Jerry or Ben?". M***
Anyone ever considered making thier more khaire friendly? few e.g
