The Jesuits of Nepal have expressed the possibility of closing their schools. Instead of these men being pushed out we should be honoring them with national recognition and honors for the work they have done for the youth of Nepal. Though they are not interested in honors and recognition they certainly deserve better treatment than they are current ly receiving. Just yesterday principal Fr. Maniyar espressed his " love Nepal as much as any other Nepalese citizen. This is my country. I am proud to be here serving the country." Have we forgotten the men who died in service to Nepals drugs addicts even being murdered for their beliefs. Even in their old age these men, such as Fr. Watrin continue to operate institutions such as the Godavari Alumni Association. Lets support these men, encourage them, show then how we feel about the sacrifices they have made for us thoughout their tenure in Nepal. Any thing less would should our disregard for all the organizations which provide money for various development projects in Nepal. Are we animals ?

Honourable indeed. But, rook I hope you don't mind me making a small correction. "Instead of these men being pushed out we should be honoring them with national recognition and honors for the work they have done for the youth of Nepal. " Don't you think is should read, "Instead of these men being pushed out we should be honoring them with national recognition and honors for the work they have done for the youth of Kathmandu. " ?? Just another way to look at it. Cheers!!

Many of the youths recovering at the rehab center are from outside of the Kathmandu valley... I assume that would include most of Nepal....hoina ra? Just one more way to look at social service work provided for Nepalese youths!

Social service in Nepal, is there such a thing? Am not trying to be cynical here, for my query is genuine. Please excuse my ignorance. Thanx

OU812 ji Were you addressing me...S-I-T-A-R-A..... or referring to the narrative..."Assuming I did not speak..." (that was not titled "Club night in DC".... by the way! A sequel to that anecdote is " Last Night In DC"...in case you are ignorant of its existance! :) As for the other: I don't know about jesuit run rehabs in mmmmmmmm..... Birtamod and/or Damak. However, I do know there aren't too many schools in....mmmmmmm Syanboche or Lukla either. So my ignorance complements yours!.... Really, let me look up on it.
