Must be the bus of either Sitara's pop, or some forlorn [And, god knows FOSLA] lover who couldn't forget her after she flew to USA:-) Between 'Palpa' and 'Kathmandu', he could have posted some muktaks too, something like: Chhodi Jaane Baiguniko Maayaale Sataauchha Malaai, Malaai, Malaai... [Forgot the next line] -- Arnico, enough hints re? I see no thing but the butt of the bus, and a dark backdrop of a few branches of overhanging tree. In the side there is a lady vendor. Do these Palpa-KTM buses travel via Narayanghat, or do they travel via Pokhara? My guess of this location is ,anyway, Narayanghat. |

Two probable guess 1. at the junction where the Tribhuwan Rajpath and Siddartha Rajmarga splits at Naubise 28.2 Km from thankot 2. Junction at mugling where the highway splits for Pokhara and Narayanghat. Do I get to "phone a friend"? |

If I may hazard a guess, my money is on Naubise- the two arrows indicating the split between "mathill-lo bato" and "tallo bato". It can't be Mugling for from what I recall the junction where the highway splits between Pokhara and Narayanghat is sprawling with upstarts- "cold stores", restaurants etc (Bhok Lagyo Restaurant and Bar being one of them). |

Now, I see the photo more clearly. So, my guess is Naubise, where the sign is showing the direction to Prithvi Rajmarg and Tribhuvan Rajpath. |

The bus plys from Palpa to Kathmandu;meaning, it goes through Palpa, Butwal,Narayanghat,Mugling, Naubise,Thankot, and KTM. If you remember correctly, there is an three-way intersection in Mugling while coming from KTM, one that goes to Pokhara, the other one goes to Narayanghat. Looking at those blue arrows, my best conjecture is that this picture was taken on that intersection, and the bus was travelig from KTM to Palpa. Moreover, there is a woman selling "khataga khagati" on that "thela ghati" which is a very common scene in Mugling. People resort to buying "khataga khagati" in Mugling because many people usually get bus-sick and back home, we have a prevalent notion that "khataga khagati" is an antidote to bus-sickness. With these observations, I conclude that the aforementioned picture was taken in Mugling. best wishes, yatri |

I also remeber Palpa..I think I have seen that bus very often..may be many times.... I guess it is in Naubise.....Or near Kurintar...?? Is that close?? |

At the risk of being accused of obsessing over this trivia, let me provide another evidence on why I think it's Naubise or somwhere around there and not Mugling. Observe the lorry coming through from the other side- only a part of the rear end is visible. What kind of evidence does that provide? 1. The highway isn't very wide here. Letting the lorry pass through seems to have created bit of a congestion, assuming there is no landslide or broken bridge ahead. The traffic might as well have been at a halt for inspite of Arnico's suprior photographic skills and all that, this picture is way to clear to have been one taken of a moving object from inside another moving object. Oh, and the brake-lights of the bus confirm that. The intersection at Mugling is definitely wider! 2. The lorry seems to be the type that's used to ferry sand, bricks, rocks and other building materials from the dry banks of Trishuli by construction joints in Kathmandu and usually isn't fit for long-distance travel. So, my guess is the ferry isn't very far from home. |

The picture is taken at exit 29A off I-95 right before entering the suburbs of DC. The up arrow shows the continuation of northbound I-95 and the arrow to the right shows the direction of the exit ramp! |

Sitara ji, It could be some jealous guy then. But, the guy sharply attacked me that time. Thx for making it clear. My heartfelt thanks goes to you for introducing/bringing me to Sajha kurakani. It has also been a fun for me reading minds of people from different walks of life. by the way, Hajur ko kunai sajha chat clinic hour chha ki??? Yeha thuprai thuprai prem rogi, prem pagal, prem charo, prem pujaril, prem lahari, etc., haru mutu ra dimaag ko oopachar ka lagi parkhi rahechhan. La yeha haru ko ooddar gari dinu paryo hajur le.
