Check it out! In this week's Boston Tab there is a picture of Dhirendra's yet another wife and her daughter. Am I missing something here? Wasn't Dhirendra married to Aishworya's sister Prekshya? And then he married this "woman-who-lives-in-England." Where and when does this woman fit in this whole picutre? Was he simultaneously married to Jaya Shah while being married to P.? The paper says Jaya's daughter is not called princess because supposedly Dhirendra married Jaya after he renounced his royal title! Really, if Boston Tab writes something so unsubstantiated report who can you trust? Agreed Boston Tab is not Time magazine or new york times but still...

Yeah, really... I've been asking the same question. Here's the link to the story if you're interested: http://www.townonline.com/metro/brookline/16922661.htm

I see GBNC's Vice President named Jaya shah. Is she a same person mentioned in this artical? Can anybody varify? If she is, even if she is not and whoever this woman is, we feel sorry for her and her daughter. Our symphathy and we wish her the best. If she is VP of GBNC, should not GBNC write something or organize something for this family. Send condolece card or flower etc.. Unless there is something we don't know.

Yes, when I posted a similar posting I was called a rumor spreader. I am happy to know there are similar curios people out there. Can anyone answer the proposed question as above or will it be allowed to just fade away.

Making public investigation into the private lives of the Shah family (in Brookline) is the dirtiest I have seen of the whole massacre incident. Even if they are (or not) a part of Dhirendra Shah's family, they deserve some privacy in these difficult times. Are y'all left with nothing but to gather dust/dirt on them... -diwas

Diwas_k, shut up and mind your own business then. We are just curious as to if she is the "Jaya Shah" we could send her a condolence card.

>Even if they are (or not) >a part of Dhirendra Shah's family, they >deserve some privacy in these difficult >times. I do not see how an argument based on privacy rights could be made in this case when the Shah family seems to have agreed, so obviously with a photograph, to talk to a reporter and have a profile published in the newspaper. Once such a profile is in PUBLIC domain, other readers are free to wonder about this and that, and bring up their own unanswered questions. That is their right. And just because all these questions are being asked does not mean that Shah family need to provide answers. They need not. And that's also their right. oohi ashu

I agree with Ashu in this case. I don't think anybody WAS making public investigation here. There was no rumors or news I heard about this family until they went public themselves. Beside me, I am pretty sure there are, now, lots of Nepali living in Boston wondering about this article and GBNC's executive member's silence in this case. I agree with Ashu on another point that even if this person is the same JAYA who is VP of GBNC does not want to respond, that is OK. But at least GBNC President or any other Exe. members should clarify and respond. GBNC VP position is PUBLIC position and ROYAL matter is PUBLIC, at least for Nepali people. Off course, we do feel sorry for this family and our sympathy to them. We just want to confirm the story, since it is published article, and her relationship with GBNC before our non nepali friends find out and inquiry.

>I agree with Ashu on another point that even >if this person is the same JAYA who is VP of >GBNC does not want to respond, that is OK. Yes. Thanks. >But at least GBNC President or any other Exe. > members should clarify and respond. Well, I am not sure so about this. Why? For one thing, ALL GBNC members, being diverse, have both private and public lives OUTSIDE of the usual GBNC frame. As such, NOT everything they do need to be viewed with a GBNC lens. Now, unless the aspects of those private and public lives are serious enough factors for GBNC's day-to-day functioning or its very survival, GBNC should NOT get involved in explaining or clarifying any of its members private/public lives. That's simply not its mandate. In this case, I just don't see how the Shah family's misfortune is likely to affect GBNC seriously enough to hamper/influence its functions. And I don't think the Shah family had consulted GBNC before going public with its story, nor should it have consulted GBNC anyway. GBNC, after all, is a volunteer-run organization. True, the Shah family deserves all our sympathy and prayers, but GBNC need NOT be dragged to publicly explain/clarify anything re: their personal misfortune JUST BECAUSE some of them HAPPEN to be a member in a volunteer-run organization like GBNC. I don't know whether I am being clear enough. oohi ashu
