I think it's great to see Nepali journalists, like Akhilesh,
in the US making use of the American media to put their
views across. May Akhilesh and write more about/on Nepal
for various US newspapers.

ashu, thanks for posting the Newsday article. The article came out on Friday (June 15), a day after the probe report was released. But it had already gone to print by the time I and the oped editor at Newsday heard the news. Both Mr. Rumsey and I rued the timing of the article the next day - but these things are common in daily newspapers. It's written largely for the New York readers - giving an immigrant community's take on the event - the shock, confusion, mystery, chaos...And later, my own outrage (as a reporter for Kantipur Publications) over the arrests of Kantipur's editor and publishers.
yes, it seems the link has been cut off. Probably because the article is more than a week-old. If anyone has the electronic version of the article saved, (and you think it could still be of relevance), you could load it. I only have the print version with me. Thanks GBNC.
