I know I'll be an earful to some of you but am I going blind or do I not see information about how much money it costs to register for the ANA convention. I mean shouldn't that be made clear to those who want to go to the convention. Also, I spoke to about 20 people so far and they all said that Nepali New YEar party sucked. Reasons: 1. It was around 2 months late 2. Plates were so small that one couldn't even eat $5.00 worth of food. 3. Speak Nepali! All of us can't understand English. Afterall, it's a Nepali nEw Year party. ( this was a hit ladies and gentlemen)And to those who wanna show that they can speak English, maybe and just maybe we should have an English speaking competition. 4. Next time if someone wants to elect their 'best friend' for the president, make sure he is capable of doing this job ie. someone who takes criticism as a way to do better next time rather than write a whole page of why the party was the way it was. Thank YOu

why don't you call ANA and ask how much it costs to get your ass down there. if the host (ANA)doesn't think it's necessary to let everyone know how much the food and tickets cost, that's their problem. why do you blame gbnc for every action. remember, gbnc memebers are doing us a favor by designing this web site and organising the parties every now and then. they have nothing to gain other than just losing their time and money (if they've worked somewhere else) I've seen members who took the day off from work just to serve in the programs. and there're the people like you who come up with the critisism after 2 months saying that plates were too small and food didn't worth 5.00 bucks. do you know that gbnc always pays to the resturant and hall owners thru the money they collect from the attendence. i've seen many times member paying thru their own pockets cause they couldn't rise enough money to pay the bills. did you ever asked if they were all set? have you ever donate a single dime to gbnc community ever? we don't choose our president based on their management skill and organizational power, we choose because we don't have any choices. no one would like to be the president or work for the community. why anyone should work for free, and also listen the crap from the pig head like you; who doesn't have a brain to use two plates if 2 lbs of mutton and 2 lbs of chicken doesn't fit in your sigle plate. now don't tell me it's a little embrassing. nepali people never had any.

nepali, why are you so angry. can't you even take a litlle criticism? Criticisms are good for both GBNC and it's members. I never understood why Nepali are prone to criticism? So what if yuou chose to take a day off to organize GBNC functions. You can atleast put in your resume that you were a GBNC member and so forth. It does look nice in the resume doesn't it. Did you ever think as to why you guys had to put your own pocket money to run GBNc. IT is because people don't like it. They don't feel comfortable coming to GBNC organised events. You don't need to get all hostile about it allright.

Since Gbnc was established it has been a downhill road. This year probably was one of the worst ones. But all we ever do is complain. complain about the food, complain that you were not informed but if you look in the mirror who is to blame(old habbits never die)??? We ourselves. Because of people like you(whiners), the genuine mature people who were dedicated have stopped coming to GBNC functions. As far as understanding english is concerned... what are you doing here if you do not know how to communicate in the required language. I suggest you go take a language class.. my friend. What if you get lost & need direction... no espeaka aungraji New years party was no excuse, last years president is to blame as well. New years eve comes every year, they should have booked the hall last year(you knew what date it was going to be). Its a free country ma friend. if anyone can run for president of the United States of course anyone can run for GBNC????

Do you guys want me to say 'Oh ok I'm sorry I shouldn't have complained!' GBNC is the best and the members oh couldn't been better. And is this a new fad or what 'epitome of pettiness'? Am i that perfect at being nasty kanchi? I was just relaying what i heard from normal nepali people. Sorry i didn't know you guys didn't have the capactiy to hear the real truth. Pathetic.

the truth is because of people like you majority of the people have stopped coming to GBNC. Very typical Nepalese not thinking of how to improve but criticizing their every move. Put yourself in that position then you will feel the pain. But at the same time I am not praising the current GBNC board either. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.........

hey joker, seems like you've got a big problem just coz you know how to speak couple of lines of english. so long as i know GBNC parties are organized in order to keep up with our cultural values. SO I DONT SEE ANY REASON WHY ANY SMART ASS SHOULD GO UPTO THE STAGE AND SPEAK IN HIS "UMRIKAN ACCENT". well if you're really that proud about being so good in your "Umrikan accent" then go find some job to be a DJ you fat head, atleast let us celebrate your nepalese function in a nepalese environment. its because of smart asses like you that less and less people go to attned GBNC functions. keep your smartness with you, good luck kancha's fren

1St of all no need to be so aggresive.... Mr fren What are you doing here in this country if you cannot follow the rules and regulations here. We are not in Nepal... This is the land of the free. You can do whatever you want. you can speak in any language you want, go right ahead. just because someone thinks a little different than you doesn't mean that they are smart asses. "fat head" c'mon you can do better than calling stupid names to people. this just shows the level your your maturity. thanks to people like you(sour grapes), spoil it for the rest of us.

Are people ever happy with anything? Gbnc does something people are not happy gbnc does not do something people are not happy. What's gonna make people happy? What's the big deal with speaking in english in the US?? If there are some nepalese people who don't understand english and are living in the US, I strongly suggest them to start learning, or else they are better off going back to nepal where they can understand what's going on. Unfortunately there are no Nepal Town like China Town in the US. Maybe kancha can start a Nepal town so that people who don't speak english can feel at home and maybe open a tarkari pasal in the street.

You guys don't understand what i'm trying to say do you. All i'm saying is if you wanna restore our nepalese values and cultures then why not speak in Nepalese in those functions especially those who are representing GBNC. People are living in the USA because you don't need to speak English to survive here there are other ways around. That's why USA is not called "China." IS that so difficult or what? There are translators in hospitals, president elect McCain didn't get elected and one of the reason was he was gonna make it mandatory for everyone to speak in English. Thank you

Kancha, have you seen anyone successful in the US who does not speak english? I'm just saying that speaking english in the US is a must what a speaker chooses to speak in a function is his or her own choice .. remember we live in the land of the free?? If you want speakers to speak in Nepali you're better off in Nepal.

Kancha, if you are not using english to survive here, who are you associatin with? Surviving is one thing, living is another. Maybe you ought to look at who your friends are and try to add a little variety. Sound to me like you are living in the ghetto. Get out and meet som people. You neve know what pleasantries might come to you.
