[Okay, I downloaded this song from some P2P server a long time ago, but "ghaito" ma never "ghaam" laaging. Aja finally "Din Juraaing", Ghaito ma thyammai Ghaam Laaging, Download garing, CD ma Poling, Bata ma sundai hining. In the middle of the song (especially the beginning of the first verse), I could feel stupendous chill somewhere around the heart.
The song starts in a usual fashion -- a simple prelude of kaharwa rhythm played on an usual acoustic instruments like dholak, flute, violin etc accompanied by Ram Krishna Dhakal's great vocal, and good lyrics. But the first verse of the song really hits the bull's eye, which is followed by soothing interlude of flute, guitar and violin. (There are usually 3 verses in this genre of Nepali songs (modern nepali songs?) and a pattern of prelude-openingVerse-first interlude-firstVerse-secondInterlude -Second verse-fade). I personally think, when the first and the second verses (Antara in Nepali) is better than the opening verse, then the musician must be really seious about the quality rather than the commerciality of the song.
Here, in the first verse (Antara) of the song, the musician (Nyhoo Bajracharya) really shines, when his melody exactly follows the feeling of awesomely written lyrics by Anand Adhikari. It's hard to tell if the melody of the song is better than the lyrics, but they are mind-blowing. I remember somebody's saying, "Good Songs are not made in heaven, they are created here". Hats off to such an "aang nai siringa" banaune composition, lyrics and equally matching vocal. (And oh yeah, it's great to listen to the well-programmed Nepali Song which avoids the use of keyboards and synthesizers for a song like this. Most of the musician rely upon the keyboard programmed rhythm and it doesn't usually sound great). A MUST LISTEN (eh, if you care for it).

(sachi bhaneko).. my only regret in life is i know nothing about music...just didn't get a chance to learn it while growing up.. then, when i actually ahd the oppurtunity to learn it, i had turned out to be the laziest person!! aaba ahile ta budho bhayeeo..
tara, seriosuly dudde, you should write on songs//music. although not a muscian myself, i apprecaite music, just as i appreciate every beautiful thing in this world.

Ruck jyu, Dhakkan bhanya ma Dhakkan!! I didn't know anything thing about that song. It's been a while I listened to the Nepali songs, especially a full CD or tape. Once I asked my uncle in Nepal to send me some tapes of Nyhoo or Ram krishna Dhakal. And he did, He send me "ek chin" by Nyhoo and "adhaar" by RKD. The first song from the album "adhaar" is brilliant -- I forgot the lyrics but its something like "achano lai thaha hola chot ke ho khukuri ko -- eklo paraai". After than I listened to Orali laageko, and "eklo paraai" was ali fikka compared to orali..
hehe!! Thanks though.

kya hariiipppp analysis gareko.. Sachi nai music ma PhD ho ki k ho? hamilai chai gaff dine, Space Science bhanera? LOL... ;) By the way, I've heard that song a couple of years ago, and it always sounds easy on my ears when I listen Ram Krishna Dhakal. I heard he's coming to ANA convention.. It will be awesome to see his live concert.

This is one of my best songs everr also. Takes me somewherrre faaaaar awwaaay...beyond myself...my souL & my existence...whenever I listened to this song. I am such a die-hard fan of this song and the singer that I can sing the whole song to you with musicz in addtion :-)! :=D J/k j/k. But I do know the lyrics, the muzic, the tone and the pictures (from the video of this song)...more than any other song perhaps! :-).
Reminds me of an experience :-). My fren used to host a radio show in coll. last fall So when everr She would play this song, it would be dedicated to me :-).

I really liked this song, thats why I was compelled to write JPT about it eh!! Thinkin' about writing on "ek chin" by nyhoo, Uday/Manila ko "Atmakatha" and RKD ko "aadhar". eh.. herum... ke huncha. That was exactly how I felt when I listened to this song for the first time yesterday.... took me somewhere faarrrr away (Only, thing was that I was driving... eh and its not nice to goooooooo far away from yourself when you are driving). hehe... So, when you gonna sing this song for us, word by word?? I'd Love to listen to it niiiiiii.. LOL!! Had I known, I'd have dedicated this posting to you.. ;)

Yeah yeah Pp, I can sing :=D! But my problem is "kaag" the birdy will start singing along with me since her antenna will be UP! listening to me. That is coz she will come to know 'one of her kind' has started singing! and this is too beautiful tune to be sung by me :'-(.

hareeeeeeeeeeeb analysis. I knew as soon as I saw with your 880 volts, you had that musical healing inside you......(seeing her piercing THERE) ;)!
as far as the song is concerned, I really couldn't drag myself to listen to the song or the lyrics...........well, having said that, I could never drag myself to listen to NG, Deep Shrestha, or any other classic singers........
I might get into that song eventually.........k garne.......few generations behind music..bharkhar catching up on NG jyu with "priyasi ka yaad haroo" :P

Yesto kharrrrrrrrat NG ko geet sunne manche le aru geet ke sunla ra?? ehh.. Sunchu, 880 lai dekhyo pachi timilai ni "Geet furya thiyo" re. I hope that GEET is in Nepali, not English.. eh!! 880 le bujhdaina ni.
Iso, Yeti dherai is my all time fav. Eh... Deepak Jangam wrote the music and lyrics for that song, and its awesome. Musicwise, the uses of abstract notes make this song really ear-frinedly. Asharai mahina ko ta ke kura garaai bho.. eh.. sunyo ki runai mann lagcha.. hehe..
Lonely, I have lot to say about "ek chin deu"... Probably I will write one of these days. I am listening to that album by Nyhoo, and trying to grasp every note of it. eh...
