From Recent pictures seen on this site, I am curious why Paras has not shaved his head. Has he no respect for the people he helped murder. Was the King's head shaved. I think not. WHY?

Sri Panch Badamaharaj Dhiraj & Sri panch Yuvaraj Dhiraj are immune to Jutho. I guess that makes our "much boloved Prince" PARAS a Yuvaraj Dhiraj - OUR NEXT KING.

FYI, king Gyanendra's head was shaven. You could see it in the
photos of the day he was invested the kingship in Hanumandhoka.

You don't know a,b,c .. of rituals. The people who have their own father and mother alive do not shave when someone dies. Even peole don't shave their mustache before the expiration of either of their parents. Culture is Culture, whether you follow or don't you follow. Paras has his father and mother both alive, so how can you expect him to shave his head? King Gyanendra was not a king when Late King Birendra died, so he shaved his head to show respect (FYI: King Gyanendra's father is dead). :-)

Just a quick note on culture:

Mr. Culturist, what you posted was not-so-accurate.

In nepal, any male, who has gone through the "initiation" (bartabandha) has tos have his head, if any of his relative die, whther his parents are alive or not, doesn't matter.

Only males who haven't have their bartabandha are not expected to shave their head.

Thank you Troilakya (spelling. Are we to assume then that Paras did not go throught the ususal Barthabandha. That is for 10 year olds, or is he immune from that too. Hope he will be excused from the Kingship. There was would have been nothing wrong for him to shave his head, traditional ritual or not.
Kancha Posted on 23-Jun-01 11:13 PM

Oh God let go of all this bickering. Just let Paras do whatever he wants to. I bet Paras will be a good ruler becacuse only chor can discipline chors. Nepal is filled with chors and if you look around your father, uncle or any close relative might have been culprit of bribery) If you couldn't stop them, please please please be quiet.

thank u

After seeing the cartoon by Rajesh KC on the Kantipuronline front page (Girija-like-figure reading the head-shaving orders over the Radio Nepal), I wonder how Girija would look after he shaved his head. Did he do that? Has anyone sheen him with shaven (bald?) head?
Biswo Posted on 27-Jun-01 04:44 PM

Girija shaved his head a few days later.
