Hi all,

In business, your brand is everything.

Brand is what that creates those special bonds of trust, loyalty and repeat-usage between your customers and your goods and services.

But let's face it: Nepali goods and services are not only poorly marketed, they
also suffer from serious branding-related problems, leading to troubles in
domestic and international marketplace.

Fortunately -- see below -- help is at hand.

(Maxpro, the Kathmandu-based ad agency that's running this program on June 23rd, will offer similar programs for small and medium businesses at lower rates in and out of the Kathmandu Valley at later dates.)

Ashu,

I'd love to hear about how this program goes... particularly-

- what kind of presentation format
- how it's received by the audience, their reaction before and after the seminar
- how many people show up, from what walks of life and
- was Rs.5K appropriate for a day long talk
- did people find the content relevant in Ktm market and practically useful

If it's possible and convenient, please post your experience here, hai?

Take care,

Kiddo,

In addition to my voluntary involvement in Sajha (sharing news, views and informatin with you all) , I earn my keep as a consultant to private-sector, profit-seeking small, medium and large businesses in Nepal.

My area of so-called expertise is strategy . . . you know, asking a lot of candid, informal and hard-nosed questions related to the fundamentals of any business, gathering information, doing number-crunching and data-driven analyses with a dash of intuition thrown in, and then actively assisting these businsses (i.e clients) to make profits from the markets, by helping them sell their services.

My success is basically tied up with clients' success in the market. If they fail, I fail. If they succeed, I succeed. It's that simple. Thankfully, the client base is growing and growing!!

I love my job because not only do I get to lead a great group of colleagues and others to success, but the job also keeps me in touch with no-nonsense and impatient-for-success private-sector players in Nepal, and at times I feel as though I were going to a self-teaching business school in Nepal!! For an auto-didact, things could not have been better!!

Moreover, I write about "strictly business" issues every other week (600-word pieces) for The Nepali Times newspaper (though, believe me, I am about to update that old, old stupid photo of mine there!). Plus, I publish a biz-related book review every month
(800-word-pieces) in The New Business Age magazine.

Ultimately, I would like to work in, say, the Finance Ministry as an advocate of
the Nepali private-sector, and, for that, I am just happy to be getting my hands dirty for now, so to speak . . . you know, establishing relations withe the private-sector players, understanding what the business-related constraints and opportunities are, learning first-hand as to how the markets in Nepal work or do not work or how could be made to work more openly and fairly . . . . no one predict the future, but let's see how things go in the next 5, 10, 20 years . . .

So, there's my "business conection".

Ruck,

The play was excellent, to say the least.

I understand that Isolated Freak is going to post something related to the play.
I will wait for his posting first, before giving my comments. Arnico, who was also wih us,, too may want to add something after seeng IF's posting.

by,

Sure, I'll let you know how this branding workshop goes.

Come to my house for dinner and guff-suff when you are next in Nepal, and we'll talk.
BTW, we are having a mini class-reunion at a restaurant this Friday evening.
Meantime, could you send me AJT's email address?
