Of course not they often think about football and beer as well. Seriously though, while its often quoted that men think about sex every six seconds, you can rest assured this is an exaggeration.
Men certainly do spend a proportion of the day imagining what it would be like sleeping with the girl in the sandwich shop around the corner, but were not as obsessed with sex as most women believe. Id say that men think idly about sex at regular intervals throughout an average day. Not persistently, but in brief flashes. And basically, our sexual imagination tends to tick

over largely when were bored.
When men think about sex, they do so in a fairly innocent, harmless way. Rarely do I find myself harbouring explicit, porno-movie style thoughts about the woman standing next to me in the bus queue Im more likely to think, Mmm, nice bum, invent a mental image of what it would look like in the flesh, and then return to reading my paper.
Naturally its impossible to quantify exactly how often men daydream about sex but as a rule of thumb, ask yourself as a woman how many times you think about it and youre probably almost there. One things for sure, men spend a hell of a lot more time thinking about sex, than doing it.

Nepalithito is right,
biologically man's brain has to control the sex arousal. Hence major part of mans energy is spent on controling sex rather than performing it. Once the control of brain over the #### is lost there is the arousal (perfect example of morning arousal).
Hence, biologically animals have been designed to simply aid the evolution by contributing to the evolution by genesis of fit offsprings. Hence, regardless of how much pressure we exert on ourselves (in name of civilization) the thousand years of evolutionary thrust exerts there.
Hence, it is right to think that man's brain is all the time thinking of sex (even unconciously) if it is not for arousal then it is to control it.

Women think about sex, what is it, every 15 seconds?
