Koirala not above law : CIAA
The CIAA Tuesday said NC president Girija Prasad Koirala or any other else is not above the law and possesses no any right to disobey a constitutional bodys summon.
In a written statement furnished to the Supreme Court Tuesday, the CIAA defended its right as a constitutional anti-corruption body to summon all current or former public-post holders for corruption investigations.
In a country where there is rule of law, no one can claim of being above the law, or imagine that the rules and regulations are not for him, the CIAA said. In the petition filed at the apex court, Koirala claimed the CIAA lacked rights to summon him.
CIAA investigation officer Prem Raj Karki, another defendant in the case, will furnish his written statement possibly on Wednesday, a court official said.
