There must be a large number of suppressed voices in Nepal...read below CJ asks for details of 86-yr-old womans case KOL Report KATHMANDU, June 26 - Chief Justice Keshav Prasad Upadhyaya Wednesday ordered the court administration to furnish details of the case pertaining to 86-year old Safala Devi Shrestha, who has been knocking the doors of different courts for the last 35 years for her share in her husbands property. The Chief Justice has ordered the court administration to submit details on the case of Safala Devi as soon as possible, Dr. Ram Krishna Timilsena, spokesperson of the Supreme Court said, We have started collecting files on her case from the courts inside the valley. Dr Timilsena added that the court administration is required to collect details on when she filed the case at different courts, what were the decisions of the courts at different times, and why the decisions have gone unimplemented till today. The order has come as a prompt response to a moving news report on Safala Deviss untiring visits to the courts for more than three decades, seeking justice for her share in her late husbands property. Kantipur Daily, sister publication of Kantipur Online brought out the news in its Wednesday edition. Her visits to court began in 1969, when she first filed the case at the Kathmandu District Court, claiming her share in property of her husband, who forced her to leave home under the persuasion of her step sons. Now she is 86 years old. Her body has stooped but she still visits the courts seeking justice with the help of a walking stick. Various courts had decided in favour of her at different times but the decisions were never implemented.
