Ha ha ha this is hilarious !!!!
In the international Scene Trance is DEAD. It ceased to Exist around 1998-1999. Whatever is coming out now is all recycled material. There are no mo grounds to break in that field, same with all the other electronic scene(like Hard house, Drum n Bass, Haardcore). Foe trance the best place used to be Germany around 1996-1997 when Sven, Ralph, Matthias coined the Goa term for Trance. Now even their Record Label have ceased to exist. Biggest Trance event in Nepal...he he more like the only trance event in Nepal cause Ya know how the Nepali folks get when they are drunk(too much testasterone). Vewy Vewy Bad Idea to serve achohol in these sort of events(only brings trouble and aggression).

Another thing...40,000 ppl ? I just have one worry.....SECURITY. and on top of that serving alchohol...You are definately asking for trouble.... I would be more worried about ppl Vandalizing the Hotel rather than anything else. If you are expecting 40000 and if the venue has 500-1000 capasity...Thats going to be a problem. And if anything happens to the Hotel.....I am sure Hyatt folks are going to be on your asses.
Bitchpatroll Posted on 30-Jun-03 12:01 PM

Man I dunno whut the Hyatt People are thinking...Or is it a Scam ? Free and 5 Star Hotel ? You are begging the Gunda's of KTM to throw stones at the Hotel. A hotel would never host an event like that here(there is bound to be trouble). Thats why it all started in warehouses. Its an open invitation for all trouble makers to gather in one place...

Thanks for the invitation. I'll be there..

"In the international Scene Trance is DEAD. It ceased to Exist around 1998-1999."
Is this your own idea or do you have proof?

"Whatever is coming out now is all recycled material."
You need to download some serious stuff from my server....lemme know

"Sven, Ralph, Matthias coined the Goa term for Trance"
Goa Trance is only one branch of trance music...progressive...melodic...uplifting...etc

"Nepali folks get when they are drunk(too much testasterone). "
That's everywhere....human nature...come to a bar in Minnesota & see how the whites
get crazy....and oh...you should try going to a bar in Inglewood or Oakland, CA &
watch the black & chicano dudes gettin' crazy with their small steel toys.....Atleast in Nepal you only hear of guys beating each other...bottles on head & yeah the famous
Khukuri scenes sometimes...it's not as bad as putting caps in your head...

"I would be more worried about ppl Vandalizing the Hotel rather than anything else"
Who Cares?? :) ........let the owners of the hotel take care of that headache

"Another thing...40,000 ppl"
It's not going to be 40,000 people...come on...just refering to events in Holland...like Sensation

"A hotel would never host an event like that here(there is bound to be trouble). Thats why it all started in warehouses."
Com on dude...don't be negative..let's keep an open mind. Nepal ma kaha Warehouse
cha ta...maybe carpet factories or Eeta karkhana...:)

Dude look around you ..I don't know where you are but do you see parties like before ? How many promoters do you see pushing parties(those days are gone ma fren) ? And the Cops busting parties ? That was why it was fun back then..Cause nobody Knew .. cops had no idea cause it was not advertised..everything was done by cellphone and email..leaving the cops in Limbo.

Dude I am not interested in your hard drive..he he... who wants that crap when you have Vinyl. Dude you seriously need to update your database. Have you seen the latest releases ? Dude where are you ?
Jhilkey Posted on 01-Jul-03 09:44 AM

Goa Trance is only one branch of trance music...progressive...melodic...uplifting...etc
Yeah if you were there from the begining..this was the fastest they could go. Sven was like the God father of trance in 94-97,98. You kids are a lil too late mimicking them.

That's everywhere....human nature...come to a bar in Minnesota & see how the whites
get crazy....and oh...you should try going to a bar in Inglewood or Oakland, CA &

Come to Bar in Minnesota ? Whaat ? Please tell me you're kiddin' bars in Inglewood and oakland with their stell toys ? Dude you definately are hanging out with the wrong crowd. Trance parties are all about Rollin' and having a good time with your friends. Who the hell goes to bars for parties ? Rollin' and drinkin' don't Mix(I don't know which planet you're from). You talk as if you have no resposibility of hosting a party. Did you think ..since its yo party they might come after your ass. If someone Od's you will be responsible..your party... your security..and how did they get in there.

And why are you talking referring to 40000 people for a party in Nepal ? Helloooo is anybody up there ? Knock knock who is there .....its holland ..Holland who ? Its holland the party people coming to Nepal for the Party...Ha ha ha
Bitchpatroll Posted on 01-Jul-03 01:08 PM

Parties like Sensation ? Man y'all are some pathetic Big L's. Been there done that..(Instead of jus talkin' 'bout it). It all started with house..4by4 the picked up the pitch and came tech-house..then techno..then Trance..then Drum n Bass. After that there were a couple o hybrid like 2step, big beat, downtempo etc etc not nothing substantial to make an impact in the Industry. You tell me ..have you seen anything new releases ? There is nothing new...same stuff different people..but not new. Actually if you take a good look everyone id getting back to Deep house scene again(cause thats where it all started). If you goto NYC London or Paris listen to most popular Dj's(even trance like Hardfloor, Garnier and Drum n Bass ones Like Photek, Bukem) are producing house music these days kiddos...

Dude you are still in your old world...Rave's ....ho ho ho
HyattTrance is not about Raves dude....I used to goto Raves too back in 1996.....remember hyperreal.org....?? HyattTrance is about a bunch of guys just trying to have fun....who cares if people like it not....do you....:)

"In the international Scene Trance is DEAD"
What do you actually mean by this stmt? Don't best around the bush...:)
Are you referring to Raves in Warehouses....or are you actually saying no one listens
to Trance....Then why in the hell people pay $50.00 for Oakenfold in Quest Club out
here in Mpls....& then it was sold out....and why in the hell Moby does Area 1...Area 2
and you should check out these events dude...looks like you lost hope after the cops started to bust parties. Especially last year in Area 2 in Mountain View,CA .....tiesto
digweed....carl cox...you should have seen the crowd dude....need some pics or
videos as proof...lemme know

"Vewy Vewy Bad Idea to serve achohol in these sort of events(only brings trouble and aggression). "
I think achohol is legal than escasty that's why they serve them

"Dude I am not interested in your hard drive..he he... who wants that crap when you have Vinyl. Dude you seriously need to update your database. Have you seen the latest releases ? Dude where are you ? "
Yeah dude...I have a pair of Technics...DJM-3000....CDJ-1000....shit load of vinyl
and yeah.....I do have the latest releases like AVB-76, PVD-Nothing but you, Iio-At the end, Sasha-Artificial Heart....and yeah dude I don't understand u. You yourself say these words "Have you seen the latest releases ? " and then you contradict yourself
saying International Trance Scene is dead....if it's dead then why the new releases...
dude seems like you have the typical Nepali Double Standard.
Seems like you yourself like Trance music but you can't stand it when someone in nepal
does something.....

And if you guys think there's nothing new & Trance is dead......I'll be spinnin' something
alive & new this Thursday on July 3, 2003 at 9:00pm.....Garcia's in Denver, Colorado.
Hope U guys can make it......& if u all think I sound old & crap then I'll buy you guys a round. hehe......Peace!!!!!

Why the hell is Krishna is calling himself "Prakrity"?? Thought that was a female's name.
Power_Ranger Posted on 02-Jul-03 03:45 PM

So looks like the trance team in kathmandu is doing pretty good. I guess this will be their first major assault on the mainstream.

I have few questions for the team:

1) How far do you plan to go with this Trance revolution in Nepal? Does it really sell? Do you even care if it sells or not?

2) Do you guys do vinyl, cd or mp3? Would it not be limiting for someone in Nepal to be doing vinyls?

3) What's the average number of attendees at your previous parties?

4) Is there a drug of choice at your parties? I know you're going to say "music" but apart from that. I'd guess that it would be alcohol?

First of all hope for the best for the event to the Trance.com.np guys.....keep on guys and party hard.

To my name sake, Jhilkey, let me guess mate you must in the states, right? I can't say anything about the scene there, so if you say trance is dead, then I am inclined to give you the benefit of the doubt. But dude, the US isn't the world.....In Europe trance is KING.....as it is also becoming in the whole of ASIA (esp. Japan and China). The under ground dance culture that started in the gay clubs of Chicago with Frankie Knuckles in the early eighties, in a club called "Hacienda" in Manchester in the UK in the late eighties as well as the hardcore "anything goes in the forest raves" in continental Europe, IS GOING STRONG even today. I suggest you go to a small island of the coast of Spain one summer and find out for yourself. Do me a favour, if you are in the states I am sure you will be able to find some, listen to what is termed as Latin Hard House, and judge for yourself. It is mind blowing, a combination of latin salsa and electronica, or maybe a dose of JUNGLE to get your juices flowing......The point is electronica is big and getting bigger in the world...it is here to stay.

I for one understand the dangers of the alcohol and (frustu) guys mix in the party scene in Nepal....But to be honest instead of bitching I wish the T-team a great success. This is the way a suitable, sustainable social culture and night life originates. People who get drunk are everywhere as in Nepal. But it is only when more and more people realise that it is a more memorable night for everyone if the aggression is kept in check. As more and more people go out and the "Khukuri GUNDAS" become a minority, they will stop with their acting tough and join the fun. Instead of deriding their efforts to establlish a vibrant night life in KTM, we all, whether in Nepal or outside, should be encouraging them on ....So I say.....BEST OF LUCK T-team. Pray it is a success....Peace

I was one of the DJ at DC convention last year. Crowd was awesome, sucks that I can't make it this year. Good luck Harkey, I am sure you will have a lot of fun spinnig/mixing tonight, show them the light and lead the way...

trance.com.np Posted on 03-Jul-03 09:29 PM

hi! thanks for your feedback. let me try and answer your questions in short...

1) How far do you plan to go with this Trance revolution in Nepal? Does it really sell? Do you even care if it sells or not?

How far do you plan to go with this Trance revolution in Nepal?

we at trance.com.np started this as a hobby. this -- getting together and having trance parties. the trance scene in the u.s. is not as strong as in europe. the trance scene in nepal... well, i don't need to write about that. like harkay said above, we're just a bunch of guys (and gals) that like trance and want to have a good time. if we can take it "mainstream" on the way, so be it. "mainstream" more in the context of nepal. the party scene in nepal is slowly getting better, but there is still no selection for the partygoer. we want to add diversity to this scene. comes friday, the partygoer does not have just one salsa thing to go to, or just one live unplugged session to go to, but something else as well. r&b is really big in kathmandu right now. but not everyone likes r&b.

Does it really sell?

so far, it has not. but then again we're not in for the money (we may be later if this thing starts to become a revenue-generating mechanism). upcoming hyattrance -- we had to bend's hyatt's arm to have no cover at the event. trance at a hotel may sound weird, but in nepal, the partygoer (as well as his/her parents) look for security. with hyatt, security is better, as opposed to a club in thamel.

Do you even care if it sells or not?

not really... not yet. nepal has far too many other problems right now. you know what i mean.

2) Do you guys do vinyl, cd or mp3? Would it not be limiting for someone in Nepal to be doing vinyls?

in the u.s., we do vinyl (see dj harkay at the ana convention). access to vinyls speaks for itself. in nepal, mostly mp3's and cd's, although we get turntables from time to time. problem -- getting vinyls. then also turn tables are a huge investment here -- rs. 80,000 for one. that's more than a 100% markup on u.s. prices. all the latest tracks, the u.s. team sends to the nepal team via the internet in mp3 (shhh... don't tell anyone).

3) What's the average number of attendees at your previous parties?

we have not crossed 250 per party. tt3 last friday was a huge success. 200 people for a small bar in thamel was a good turnout. and we seem to be making some kind of noise now. people don't just come for a party... but come for a trance party.

although 250 may sound like a small number, in the context of kathmandu, it is not bad. yak & yeti sinners parties usually have about 400 attendees.

4) Is there a drug of choice at your parties? I know you're going to say "music" but apart from that. I'd guess that it would be alcohol?

trance.com.np does not promote drugs. however drugs are sold at parties. ecstasy ranges from rs. 900 to rs. 2000 per tablet. hash cakes are usually distributed for free.

hope this helps. please do not hesitate to ask, should you have more questions, and thanks for your support!

Thanks trance.com.np nrg team for answering my questions.

Since you guys are on top of the electronic dance music scene in ktm, you'll be the best source to answer my following question:

1) Is anybody in Nepal doing anything about electronic (underground) nepali dance music? It just means electronic dance music that has nepali feel to it. Eg. Talvin Singh for India.

2) Who are the top DJs in ktm (apart from you). If you're #1, who's #2, 3 and 4? Do any of them specialize in a specfic sound (like trance for you) or they just play anything that's a hit?

Power_Ranger
PS. So, after hyattrance last night, how's the relationship between you and the rox people? Does your scrictly trance scene has a future with the rox?

Sorry, I'm asking too many questions.

a couple of people... but nothing too impressive yet. some people simply copy entire sequences from other songs and put them into their own tracks... must be the indian copycat influence. but we have yet to see the talvin singh of nepal.

the trance.com.np dj's are all beginners. we have a long way to go before we make it big. beat-matching is still weak, but we're getting there.

there are dj competitions in kathmandu, but only so many dj's attend them.

PS. So, after hyattrance last night, how's the relationship between you and the rox people? Does your scrictly trance scene has a future with the rox?

we'll have to wait and see...

Oh WE DO NOT PROMOTE DRUGS BUT WE DISTRIBUTE HASH CAKES FOR FREE ...heh heh ! AND FOR THE HARDCORE STUFF YEAH YOU CAN GET IT FOR 900- 1000 RS oh yeah !!!Heheh

and one thing kiddos if you do not know how to beat match PLEASE DO NOT BE CALLING YOURSELF DEEEJAAAYS. IF YOU TRAINWRECK ON A TRACK... PLEASE DO NOT CALL YOURSELF A DEEEEJAAAY...TRasition.... trasition most important. Any Ram, Shyam or Ghanashyam can cut track after track like a trainwreck.

And please do not try and compare your parties with raves in europe cause you are nowhere even close. Be it sound, be it lighting, be it the fattest cut latest beats, or the atmosphere. Like Hyaterica said above....please do not over rate yourself and put yourself in that over-rated pedestal of YOURSELF
