Weapons of Mass Destruction Found in Middle East, but no reaction from the world! I wonder why that is so? Israel to boycott BBC over broadcast on N-arms Asian News International Nicosia, June 30 Tel Aviv will sever ties with the BBC as a mark of protest against a repeat broadcast on non-conventional weapons said to be existing in Israel. The programne, broadcast for the first time in March in Britain, was re-run on Saturday on a BBC channel that is aired all over the world. The boycott decision over the weekend was made by Israel's public relations forum, formed of representatives from the Prime Minister's Office, the Foreign Ministry and the Government Press Office, according to Pak Tribune quoting Online News. The manner of enforcement will be something like this: no government assistance to BBC producers and reporters, and no interviews by Israeli officials to the British network. On top of that, the Press Office will make it difficult for BBC employees to obtain press cards and work visas in Israel. The Sharon regime had tried to persuade the BBC to cancel the broadcast. In its opinion, the programme was biased, painted Israel as an evil dictatorship and ignored the treats it was facing. Particularly objectionable in the government's eye were the pictures of the Dimona nuclear reactor and the biological institute in Nes Tziona, with the narrator saying, "Which country in the Middle East has not declared the nuclear and biological weapons in its possession?" the paper reported. It was also remarked that there is no external supervision over Israel, "which is holding in custody for 17 years a man who has leaked its secrets." The broadcast also deals with Israel's alleged attempts to maintain a policy of ambiguity on its nuclear weapons.
