Hi Slake, If you are currently in Kathmandu, please don't fall victim to immigrant consultants because I have been one. They will make everything look more complex and will try to squeeze you as much as possible. Best is to visit the website as mentioned above and download the files. www.cic.gc.ca. Any specific help you want, I am ready to help. Don't pay a single penny to anybody. Most are hungry dogs waiting for a drity bone.

But I still request you as a brother to consider think ten times before immigrating to CANADA where even survival jobs are very rare. You can just imagine - every year 250,000 new immigrants come to CANADA. What for? For better future, obviously. Unless you are prepared to do jobs which I consider as slavery... Thanks... Cheers!

THINK TEN TIMES TO COME TO CANADA....99% ARE DOING ODD JOBS.

Slake ji:

You can ask for information from a Nepali Lawyer Ramesh Shrestha in NY.
He answers reader's questions in TND. If you are not familiar with TND, visit it at

http://theNepalDigest.org

And it is free service from TND. Good luck.

As soon as you don't have one full year of experience while trying to apply as a "skilled woker", don't even attempt to apply. No matter what degree you have have, you must have minimum of one-year experience.

You don't need a lawyer to make your application.... don't fall into those immigration lawyers janjaal. You are talking of wasting your 2000 - 4000 dollars!!! All you need is 1475CAD$, that's it.

Read throughly the government website:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.html

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/index.html

Take the test if you qualify to apply (you must have 75points) at

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/assess/index.html

But think twice before you decide to apply.

Learner Posted on 03-Aug-03 11:32 AM

My name is learner. I learnt the greatest lesson in my life by immigrating to Canada. Canada is a country where more than 200,000 new immigrants come every year and this has been so for decades. In spite of highest unemployment, the govt. of Canada hasn't stopped bringing more and more immigrants and so have a very very difficult life. Hardly 1% get their dream jobs, most end up doing minimum wage jobs like janitors, warehouse person, security, nanny etc.. If you have connection, only then there is a possibility of getting that minimum wage job. Canada is supposedly one of the most developed country in the world. But to me it is the opposite. Why? Because, the hardest jobs are the minimum wage jobs. If you work as a security person working at nights then you will get the same minimum wage as day jobs at the cost of your health. The govt. is not concerned at all because most immigrants do them. If you get a job of that category in three months of your arrival, you are most lucky guy I'd say.
So my dear friend, 95% of foreign educated engineers are working the minimum wage jobs. I know an indian doctor from AIIMS, NEW DELHI who is a security guard. He always curses himself for coming to Canada for better futuire. The govt. has no plan to train them and absorb them in canadian society while there is a shortage of doctors in Canada. So one can obviously guess why immigrants are brought to Canada ? You won't find any white canadians working minimum wage jobs like janitors and so on. So, come to Canada only if you're prepared for the worst. It is absolutely foolish to imagine you'll be like white canadians.

Lastly, not the least, I'd pray you not to become prey to immigrant lawyer or consultant like me. They'd squeeze you as much as possible and make things more complex. Everything is so simple ... to apply ...all you need is patience... bye ...love to all...
