A Colleague of mine says the Williams sisters shouldn't be allowed to compete on women's tennis tour, on account of their physical attributes. He feels that they should compete on the men's circuit. He says "if they were smaller they wouldn't win anything, they have no skill, just sheer power." What he fails to understand is that with power you need to able to control it and in the case of tennis the Williams sisters control that power with considerable skill.

I am probably one of the few who thought Serena will not win any more Grand Slam titles. Not because she isn't talented enough, which she clearly is, but because she's moved all the boundaries. The differences she has made to the women's tennis game are endless and because of this she has become very successful. However, I thought she is becoming a victim of her own success.

What I mean by this is that women (Clijsters and Henin-Hardenne in particular) have looked at themselves and asked themselves, what can they do to stop Serena? They have done a lot of work and extra training and building and it's paying off for them.

I'd be sick to the back teeth as well of losing Grand Slam in Grand Slam out to the same players in Venus and Serena, and after the Australian Open especially, with Clijsters having match points, and Henin-Hardenne losing in another Grand Slam semi to Venus despite breaking back, fighting back and just basically giving her all.

They proved me wrong, didn't they?? Richard Williams is once again a proud man. His two extra-ordinary daughters are both through to the Final of the Grand Slam, Wimbledon.

Serena and Venus has the game to dominate tennis for a few years yet and also the determination. The fact that they had won so many Grand Slams in a row obviously told at the French Open where she probably eased up a little mentally and expected to win. She is only human after all.

Serena, definitely moved up a gear when that line call against Henin-Hardenne in the French open semi-final, absolutely devastated her. The crowd was against her. They had no respect for her. She eventually was a loosing winner. The press conference afterwards was very emotional. She broke into tears. We understand that women's tennis is a domination of William's sister and again and again the repeatation of the all William's final, but comon, frustration is one thing, not watching is another, I like Henin-Hardenne but cheating is wrong.

What determination she had coming to the Wimbledon, to put her past behind, and play as a champion. Hardenne did not get even a sneak of a set victory. Serena was powerful in all departments. She was returning good, her forehard was working to perfection, back hand down the line was magical, she had Hardenne running all over the court, on the defense, I stopped watching the game midway through the second set. I knew the champion.
