Yeah. It is a great idea. We can select a weekend which is convenient for most of us, and hold a friendly competetion. I think Boston guys would be eager to do this. Let's hear it from other nearby cities/states. What do you say guys?? Bik.

That was one of the thing we were talking about the other day. Instead of having all the teams scrambled and play on ANA, thus making ridiculous schedules, why not have regional competitions first. The 4 best team then plays at ANA. But at this moment, it was hard to realize that plan. East Coast Soccer tournament is a brilliant idea. There should be two groups according to the region. League matches will be played between the groups and one final with top teams of each region. Ofcourse, it is as hard to organize it as easy it to say. The masterplan should be, somebody taking the responsibility for the whole thing and contacting the team captains of all the rest regions.

I talked to several players from NY, and all of them have shown keen interest on this idea of friendly tournaments among the North East teams. Let's try and gather some more steam on this--I am ever ready to provide organizational help from NY even though I don't play myself...ma ta tei ho...15 feet doudhe pachhi kakrakkai hunchhu!

What a great idea. So I guess, we have atleast 4 teams. CT, NY, Boston and DC. Should it be played on eague basis and the 2 best team to final. The team with highest points from the league gets the home court advantage for the final. How does that sound? We seem to have reps from each state except DC. Would DC, the defending champ, agree? We need few more people like Poonte jee, who wants to get involved even though he doesn't play. Let me see if I can also round up Boston guys.

Sounds good but we won't be able to participate. We'll be in the midst of the 7th annual Nepali Basketball Tournament (NBT) held here in DC every summer. We normally have about 8-9 teams each year and the tournament lasts about 9-10 weekends. NY players have participated in the past and would like to extend invitation to any team/player from other cities who are interested. The league portion lasts for about 6 weeks and playoffs for about 3 weeks. We can accomodate the schedule for out of towners. For DCAC TS

New Page 1 With complementary song...(Please turn on the
volume) Some of my kool suggestions...:) Great idea...Tournament should be on long weekend... Travel time less than 4 hour...would be great... DC should not left out....( They have plenty ppl) Should make one small committee with representative from Boston, NY, CT, DC and PA/NJ... Some one should propose the draft ..stating how to conduct tournament... And rules/regulation..... Host city is on rotation basis... Please add ........ Enjoy with music

All right! First of all, I am sure DC can handle both soccer and BBall simultaneously. If not, we'll surely miss you! Now, I have an idea: Let's do the tournament on a league basis. Every team would visit every other team on the latter's home field on weekends. The host team would make arrangements for hosptality to the visiting team (including accomodations, if needed). Then, at the end of several weekends, as someone mentioned above, the two teams with the highest points would play in the finals. Add more ideas...

1. Finalize the number of intersted states. 2. Finalize the name of representatives from each state/region. 3. The representatives will comprise the member of the board which decides the final conduct of event. 4. Continue the influx of suggestions* * Suggestions for (To be finalized by the board): 1. Name of the state representative 2. Date of the event. 3. Transportation. 4. How should the game be conducted (referee, field etc). 5. Any other cost related to the tournament (shield etc), how'd it be handled?

My suggestions respective to the number above: 1. Please come forward for the responsibility from each state. NY seems to have Poonte or Rajen. StillReturn for Boulder/DC. Help_Desk3 for Connecticut. Suggest any addition or ammendments. 2. Date of Event: We are in no haste to conduct the match, specially, players still aren't 'over' the Denver loss (7 teams lost, only 1 won). How about some 1st or 2nd week of August. Game will be played every Saturday morning. 3. Each team will be responsible for its own transportation. It would be ideal to arrive to the city on Friday night for Saturday match and stay in a affordable motel. 11 plus players sharing few rooms shouldn't be too expensive. Otherwise other arrangements can be made (sharing). Each team then can return on Saturday evening after the match. 4. Affordable officials aren't hard to find and game field should be reserved prior to the game. College field are best for the game. 5. Donations or player fees is the only way to collect the money for tournament related cost. The cost can be lowered to bare minimum by the above arrangements.

I understand Help_desk_3 jee. If there is somebody who can take the whole responsibility then nothing better than that. But who is willing to do that. Instead of that, wouldn't it be easier to make a committee out of reps from each state?
