I knew it was going to be a grand show of the Nepali Americans and Nepalis in the US, but for those of you like me who couldn't make it to Denver:

A friend of mine (I won't disclose his/her name to protect his/her identity) attended the convention and had to say this:

"Nepaliharuko baani ta ho, jata gayepani fight garne... football khelda ghagadaa garera cops nai bolaunu paryo...Organizer-harule police na-bolayeko bhaye pani hune... Ani...euta Taraai-ko player raicha bichara, teslai --dhoti ho out-- bhandai babaal gare..."

You may agree or disagree with my friend. But I found the last part of the account above particularly unfortunate.

Just to add ... someone was actually handcuffed and taken away during the Sunday Night show. I guess ... it takes all sorts to amke a community or as the former king of Nepal said ... Santaan thari thari ka ...!!!

If that was how Nepalis behaved in the convention when partaking in athletic activities, I guess they don't know the meaning of sportsmanship, a term so very much valued here in the States. And I am very happy that I did not attend the convention. Truthfully though, I knew such conflicts would arise.

But this didn't really bother me as much as how the player from the Terai was deemed a dhoti and was mistreated by "Nepalis"--people who probably had this ludicrous notion of superiority in their heads due to their putative and perceived Nepaliness, which would give them more rights in the convention or so. That is so sad. Yet, these are probably the same folks who, if given the chance, would incontrovertably raise their hands hurriedly, were they told that the first one to raise his/her hand would be given the opportunity to work as a waiter in an Indian restaurant.

Nepali people do not understand the real value of western civilization and even though they come here and live a considerable amount of time of their lives, they still cannot understand what makes a nation more civilized and successful. I still find people ( I mean really well establised people here) who ask not just your name, also your last name and then they react accordingly. I think we should stop that. Just know each other as Nepali and be proud and nice with each other. The other day...I've seen a Rana who kept on bragging about being a Rana (this doesn't apply to all the Ranas...cause I've lots of good Rana friends. And I'm not trying to offend anybody). The only thing he didn't realise is that Ranas screwed up our country for 104 years with total darkness. I felt pity on this guy. If I were him, I'd hide my face when mentioned about that part of our history.
Similarly...lot of Nepali do not realise that Terai people are Nepali too. Name calling (especially here in US) is simply immature. Thanks guys for the informations of ANA convention.

Jaba Amerika ma baseka cream of Nepali society haru ko yo gate cha, Nepal ko andheyaro ma base ka haru le kehi gare ma ke ko thulo fuss ne.
Sayad yo hamro genetic identity ho.
I am not furious about the amature kids fighting, but about the lack of wise adults who could not control them even if necessary by slapping them. Tamasa herne bane nai Nepali haru ko ragat ma cha, tes pache euta pache leyera bolne.

I wish all the Nepali, anywhere in the world cud have same feelings, thinking as Bob Marley and KaleKrishna.

drawback of Nepali:

** lack of politeness
** lack of patience
** kuni ke khayera aauchhan, 5 Nano seconds mai excite hune
**kura nabujhikana pahila hath chhodne, ani balla discuss garne (just opposite to other nationality)
**ani arko le problem solve garna tira na-laagerai cops lai bolaune (at least for the sake of nationality)

When will these things be solved/developed???

If the guys who are in US behave in that way (lacking in common sense, perception, or normal intelligence)........ who has not yet learnt anything about social life/culture from another country) ..... Nepal maa baseka haru ko kura ke garnu.

[sorry, no offense intended]
