Sorry dude,

You're on a wrong place. We don't have any affiliation with SIKKIM, DARJEELING, KALIMPUNG or TIBET. All the territory across the NAALAA PAANI belongs to INDIA so it
doesn't interest us. It is Vaajpaaye's responsibilty not ours.

Had few friends from Sikkim while studying in Delhi. To me, they seem more Nepali than those from Nepal itself. Nepalese heritage is preserved in Sikkim.
suna Posted on 11-Jul-03 11:49 AM

Hey there
I am from Darjeeling
and
I have cousins in Gangtok.
I have been to Sikkim several times but its been some time since I was last there.

Ramaychowchow is telling the truth. Sikkimise has preserved Nepali culture more than nepalese...Kudos to Sikkim for being true Nepali at heart!

I have been to Sikkim, spent almost a week there. How can I forget the most beautiful place I have ever been. It was no different than being in Nepal except that it had law and order and everything was so well managed. Nepal is also beautiful but people of Sikkim have preserved the beauty of Sikkim. I was in Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. It was much cleaner than our capital Kathmandu. I went to Changu lake and Yumthang. I have no words to describe the beauty of Yumthang. It just appeared unaffected and untouched by humans. The people are really strict when it comes to preservation of their natural beauty. Apart from all that, none can forget the Sikkim Wine. Though its just four hours drive from Jhapa, but had a chance to visit just once. For sure, Im gonna go there again - may be soon.

Suna,

First of all, thanks for posting ur biography but we're certainly not interested. Don't flatter yourself. You ain't no HILLARY CLINTON.

You wrote:

My answer:

Dear Suna:

First of all, I don't know why, my so called "abusive" behavior has any relevance to this posting ? The dude was asking if we ( includes me too ) are affiliated to Sikkim or not and I said "NO". Is that wrong ?? Does my answer "NO" really potrays my abusive behavior?? Secondly trust me, Sikkim, Kalimpung and Darjeeling are parts of India not Nepal. That's a good general knowledge and it proves that I'm not ignorant. Lastly you said "There are plenty of us who DON'T share your POV". Honey, my POVs ( point of view) are automatically shared by default as soon as I post something in any PUBLIC FORUMS.That is the nature and fun part of posting in Public Forums. So, don't lie that you and others don't share my POV because I know you all do. You don't have any choice. For example: If you are reading this posting then you are automatically sharing my POV. You can always say that you don't agree with what I said or posted but you can't say "we don't share your POV". It is just not possible. Please FOCUS more b4 u post anything next time. You can't go around accusing decent guys :-)

Dude is asking a question about Sikkim, tero ke bigriyo? Should no one talk about Sikkim in Sajha just because it is outside of Nepal in current geo-political circumference? Maybe you should not live in Boston if you want to talk in Sajha, if you were to follow your own logic.

You should stick to begging for ladies in Sajha Chat to notice you, not that any self-respecting woman would even acknowledge your presence. MOORKHA
Nattu Posted on 12-Jul-03 06:54 AM

hahaha ...sounds like you really really hate me, don't you ?? That's ok...I heard you. That is your POV about me and thanks for sharing. Now, it is my turn of sharing my POV on your posting. You wrote:

"Manche haru kura garcha Aagra ko, Nattu moro kura garcha gagra ko"

- dude, what are you talking about ? nobody is talking about Aagra or Gagra. We are
talking about Sikkim here. Stay with the subject matter. Will you ??

then you wrote:

- Dude, by analyzing your writing style and RAGE, I'm certain that you'e a female
somewhere across from NAALA PAANI. Aren't you ?? You selected the right nickname
"BOKE" to hide you identity thinking that people here in Sajha will never doubt your
identity because BOKE is a male animal but......uhn...aaa not with me. Nice try though but your obvious selection of words clearly reflects your identity.
By the way, when you wrote: " You should stick to begging for ladies in Sajha Chat to notice you, not that any self-respecting woman would even acknowledge your presence."

- What is the catch here ?? Are you trying to consol yourself by self acknowledging that
you are a self-respecting woman. How is that possible ?? Have your ever heard of a
self respecting woman with a nickname "BOKE" ??

Do I even need to respond to your other accusations like MURKHA and blah blah..blah after your little analysis ?? Naaaaaah, this will do enough for you today. Aways remember - You can run but you can't hide :-)

Have a great weekend !!

Gawd, this ignorant fellow does not even know where Naala Pani is, yet tries to hinge his argument on it. Nattu, go get some education first.

Nattu Posted on 13-Jul-03 06:23 AM

There you go again trying to divert attention from the main topic " Sikkim" to NAALA PAANI this time. First, you accuse me of talking about AAGRA KO KURA and now you are asking me what do I know about NAALA PANI. Where is the consistency in our argument ?? Is that how educated people argue ?? Here is a deal for you: answer my
questions from my last posting first and I'll tell you all about NAALA PAANI. Is that fair enough ?? Hey, I asked you first..... :-)

Controversy mires Bhanubhaktas birth anniversary celebrations

By Sanjay Pradhan

DARJEELING, July 12

Differences have arisen over the 189th birth anniversary celebrations of late poet Bhanubhakta Acharya in Sikkim, slated for Sunday. The poets birthday is observed with great fanfare every year by Nepali-speaking people across India.

The Gorkha Apex Committee (Sikkim) has decided to mark the day at the very place in Geyzing (West Sikkim) where the Sikkim government had prevented it from installing a new bust of the 19th century bard early this month. Last year, miscreants had disfigured the old bust, triggering social tension in the area.

For a long time, there has been a dispute between the committee and a local Buddhist monastery over the ownership of the site where the bust was located. The monastery claims that it owns the plot. Earlier, it did not allow the installation of a statue of Sikkims last ruler, Palden Namgyal at the same spot. On the other hand, the committee claims that the land belonged to the state government. Caught in this crossfight, the Chamling government imposed prohibitory orders in Geyzing when the committee tried to install a bust on July 1.

Committee chief GM Rai said, " We have planned to celebrate Bhanu Jayanti as Gorkha Unity Day because it is Bhanubhakta who united the Nepali-speaking people." He claimed that the government had been making arrangements to set up a bust in Geyzing.

There is a possibility of the Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling attending Bhanu Jayanti in Geyzing. In view of the controversy, the Sikkim government has declared this years Bhanu Jayanti as "Communal Harmony Day." On the other hand, the Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh, an umbrella organisation of Nepali-speaking Indians, plan to celebrate the day as Jatiya Ekikaran Diwas all over India.
Suna Posted on 14-Jul-03 05:32 AM

My dear dear Nattu:

This is your answer to the initial query.

"We don't have any affiliation with SIKKIM, DARJEELING, KALIMPUNG or TIBET. All the territory across the NAALAA PAANI belongs to INDIA so it
doesn't interest us."

Now....try explaining yourself AGAIN.

"Secondly trust me, Sikkim, Kalimpung and Darjeeling are parts of India not Nepal. That's a good general knowledge and it proves that I'm not ignorant."

I was born in Darjeeling, India. Rest assured that I probably know more about Indian geography than you do. So lets NOT talk about my general knowledge but more about your IGNORANCE (again).

"Honey, my POVs ( point of view) are automatically shared by default as soon as I post something in any PUBLIC FORUMS.That is the nature and fun part of posting in Public Forums. So, don't lie that you and others don't share my POV because I know you all do. You don't have any choice. For example: If you are reading this posting then you are automatically sharing my POV. Honey?? ummm I KNOW you know better ...than to call me that.
As for the other blah blah blahsssssss....they sounded like just that!

You can't go around accusing decent guys :-)
I KNOW you know yourself better than to call yourself a decent guy!! :).

Suna, I never questioned your intelligence. I'm sure you know better than me.....maybe. I was just trying to display my general knowledge skill in Sajha by telling people that Sikkim is a part of India.I watch JEOPERDY. Suna, I didn't mean any harm by calling you "Honey". If you don't like me calling you "Honey" then I'll stick with "Nep*i". How's that ?? It's your POV that I'm not decent and thanks for sharing. Sharing is good.
Anyway, I like you.... a lot !! What would do without you in Sajha ? :-)

"Nepali united by culture-divided by borders"

Eventhough, Darjeeling and Sikkim is in India, people who live there and speak Nepali is a NEPALI. The difference between being Nepali Citizen and Nepali, is the location of ones birth place. You can be an Indian Citizen (Or Bhutanese, or Burmese). But if you follow Nepalese tradition and speak the language (this includes any ethnic Nepalese languages), you are a Nepali. How can we forget such a huge contribution to the Nepalese literature from folks in Darjeeling?

(Feels like I am way off the topic here but what the heck...:) Its Adi Kabbi's birthday and all and I am bit emotional I guess... )

Cheers
