Pokhara ko photo chaapya cha suddenly suddenly. Afno ni photo yehi mauka ma chaapum na ho! Sajha ma everyone would love to view the pic of makhmali gal1. hehe. Though Im not from Pokhara but have spent couple of years singing this song - "Fewa Taal Ko Aangan Ma Lai Lai Machapuchchre Chayan" Atleast makes me feel Im in Nepal if not in Pokhara. Good memories foks.. keep it up..!! |

Gal1, first of all thanks for starting the thread, ani afai Pokhara ko thread suru garera Ganesh Himalko photo bichcha ma kina ni? Anyway such clear days in Kathmandu Valley must be a rare occurence nowadays due to pollution. It must be a pretty old picture haina, my guess hai looking at the urban landscape. Ani tyo last pic chahi kaha ko ho? Mero pani dherai dherai samjhana cha Pokhara ko. Jindagi ma jhandai ek darjan choti pailo tekiyo hola tyaha, ajhai pani darjanau choti paila tekne rahar cha. Baidam hos wa Tersapatti, Bidhebasisni ko mandir hos wa Chamere Gufa, sabai tira ko jhaljhali samjhana airahahncha. Beautiful pictures! Thanks everyone...Never been to Pokhara, but have heard only praise. Hope to go there at some point in life. In the meantime, I had a darshan of a "himal" from Evian in France yesterday. But nothing compares to the majestic mountains of Nepal !! Aru ni jawos.... In peace. |

hi gal1 sorry that i could not reply u back or post anything on this thread...instantly. i was in ghandruk last year.are u from ghandruk too? sad but true.. i quit my job to go there on a six day trek to annapurna circuit best known as the classic trekking route in the whole world. no travelogues , words, stories can describe how good and rejuvenating the trip was. it was like losing yourself in the beauty and tranquility of the majestic mountain.. inexpicable. i am wondering if anyone of you wuld share such memoirs as vivid ji did on his trip around the region. thanks.

GP guruji, I meant "[I] hope to be there this Dashain-Tihar" - there in Pokhara. If my fading memory serves me correctly, Dhunge Sanghu ko Mela is on Maaghe Sakranti. If not, I would appreciate correction. It has been very long time. Yes, I have been there - seen that Dhunga ko Saanghu. You may be able to cross Seti there with a long jump. Actually it is just outside Pokhara, just like your home town BegNas, but we enjoyed going there for the Mela. By the way, do you know much about Gai-jatra's Taha-Macha, Bhairab Naach, Baagh Jatra etc.? I miss them all. Well, Mr. Quibbler urf (GP = Guy from Pokhara), I don't know since when Lekh Nath Municipality became part of Pokhara sub-Metro. It is like someone from ChapaGaun or Banepa (or farther) saying "I'm from Kathmandoo". Kundahar and Bijaypur Khola is already way out of Pokhara. Beyond that is closer to Tanahu than Kaski :) Take it easy, man! |

Its funny to read "Actually it [Dhunge Sanghu] is just outside Pokhara". In 2032/33 saal, King Birendra modified some parts in constitution, and also Pokhara Nagar Palika was extended from its original size. Ward number after 11, i.e. 12-18 were expanded. That includes the flat area east of Bijayapur Khola. Mr. Quibbler Yatree, My grandfather had a land just after Bijayapur Khola, that was teared and crashed by Prithvi highway just after Bijaypur khola. Tyo bijayapur khola tarne bittikai "right after bijayapur khola" was our land. in 2028, it was Gau Panchayat, thus, the 50m right of way that passed through middle of our Bhat Khane khet, it was lost without a single paisa paid to us as damage or compensation, and it all happened because it was Gau Panchayat. So, Mr. Q. Y. my home is not in BegNas, but, 2km west of Bijaya Pur Khola, 2 km east of Seti Khola from DhungaSanghu, and 2 km north west from the point where Seti and Bijayapur khola meet. Its Pokhara Nagar Palika after 2032. And, I wonder whether a person who "well, I have piece of land in Baneswor CDO tole, house yet to make" has home at Baneswor, and if people like Yatree, who knows Bane-pa very well, but, not Baneswor, may hear Baneswor as Banepa........... and hear Bane....(not hear "swor" part well) as Bane+pa ...... and make joke on Baneswor-ian to Banepa-li. hahahhaha... gardai gardai.... Otherwise, how did he know that I belong to BegNas, how could he guess that DhungSanghu is in Lekhnath NP. Lekhnath NP is 4km away from the west tip of Lekhnath NP. Pokhara is my home town and I know very well about Lekhnath NP. A lot of relatives live in Lekhnath NP. I have travelled inside both NP. So, there should be no way to illude peoples here about Pokhara and Lekhnath NP. |

You had enough "dollars": rich enough to buy and eat : Pet charkane gari. 2. You were over drunk ---twatko surma--- 3. You did not have good combination of Alcohol in your stomach vs things you eat in Boomerang, e.g. Alcohol vs Sweets. 4. Your Chhadne has nothing to do with the quality of food served in Boomerang. (I wonder what kind of alcohol you drunk, the local rakshi ? Deshi rakshi?). So, I suggest readers not perceive wrong image on the Boomerang in Baidam, after having cursory reading of Deep ji's posting. My suggestion: when you roam around Pokhara, better drink bottled water. Even if you drink "deshi rakshi " (imported alchohol ), the diluting water should be a potable bottled drinking water. Check the expiry date to assure that it is fresh enough. If you are in Nepal from abroad, you might have less resistance to water borne disease, so avoid tap water going into your mouth, even for brushing your teeth. .......... Drink tea (boiled & hot) and take it as replacement if you can not buy bottled water. You select cheaper restaurants, usually the underaged kids working as Behera, you are more prone to get caught by water borne disease. Because if the shop keeper saves money by employing an underaged kids, you should worry about the quality of dishes, utensils and water. To my knowledge, Boomerang does not employ underaged kids. Even Coke / pepsi are below the standard that I drink here.: These drinks have more sugar, less ......, thats why when I drink Coke/Pepsi in Nepal, I usually suffer sore throat. There can be two reasons for it: Coke/Pepsi of low quality, and other one is my throat is fresh to dust in Nepal and added Coke/Pepsi will make me suffer sore Throat......... What I mean is that if you are fresh entrant to Nepal after long haul in developed world with clean air and water, you should 1. not drink raw water. 2. not drink cold drinks (sweetened), e.g. Coke/Pepsi. 3. Whole milk Curd/Yogurut. 4. Cold foods. 5. Sadheko stuffs, e.g. Moola ko Achar. I remember in 1995, I went to nepal for two weeks. My baggage was lost somewhere in Thailand while in transit from Beijing-HongKong-Bangkok-nepal route. I was upset, and I did not have extra clothes to change, so I went close to Biswo Jyoti cinema hall to meet some friends. They asked me to offer for Momo, infront of B.J.C. hall. I went with them and ate Momo. They drunk raw water served, and I followed them, of course we also drunk Coke/Pepsi (pani ko pyas Coke le metdaina bhandai Pani Pidiyo). Then, I got cold, and caugh started, and diarreah (check spelling), Au Parnu, and was in bed for 5 days with heavy dose of Citamol, and Ampencilin capsules. When my body was free from the diseases, I found world around me rotating much faster than earth was rotating about its axis. .............. After that experience, I am very very conscious what to drink and what not to drink. I am really scared to remember the days in my school, college and later: Why my body is so much sophisitcated compared to those days ? Now, my body is really fragile like a wine glass. In Nepal every food is OK, except raw water. Do not consume it raw. I wish our political leaders spare some money to buy Chlorine to kill the bacteria in water and serve chlorinated water. If water gets simple filter and chlorinated 20minutes before you drink, 99% percent of the water borne disease will cease, and 90% doctors will have to find job elsewhere. GP |

Deepji! I think you had vomiting due to overdose of alcohol. I don't think there are other reasons. GP ji junai raksi bhaye pani afno jiu le chayeko bhanda badi bhaye pachi toxication bhayo ni ta haina ra so Deepji ko body ley adjust garna nasakera vomiting bhayo which relief i guess. I am happy to know that GP ji has introduced all sajhates about boomerang. Yah this place is quite good for all in any way from tourist to local people. I have been many times but tourists love to hang around. Due to its location and good quality of service, food and reasonable price. MEro sathiko dai ko place ni so have to encouage too :) Hmm well not only coke/pepsi but all those gas containing consentrated beverage are not good to drink due to its content.It's not only in Nepal but everywhere in the world. In Nepal we have only one infectious disease hospital that is Sukra Raj Tropical Infectious disease Hospital in Teku, KTM and there, lots of patient comes with infetious disease like Malaria, DF, kalazar, Hepatitis, Typhoid, Meningitis, Joundice and many pt. with fever,diarrhoea and vomiting. Statistics shows that most of patient in Teku hospital comes with fever, diarrhoea and vomiting which are symptoms of gasteroentritis. In my opinion all of these symptoms fever, diarrhoea and vomiting doesn't cause only by drinking water. 90% doctors .... do you think 90% of doctors are dealing only with the patient of water borne diseases?? |

gal1, Yes, 90% doctors deal with water borne disease, I guess. Once we stop or minimize the water borne disease, then, the 90% doctors will be dealing with disease for rich society, i.e. over dose of salt, sugar and fat: high blood pressure, diabeties and cholestrol, and then, cancer. Once water borne disease are minimized, our life expectancy will go up, and another problem will occure: aged society, e.g. japan, 85year life expectancy for women. Usual retirement age is 62, usual job starts at 22. Thus, peoples within 22-62 have to earn bread for another 50% age groups. Now, social securities and national health insurance benefits are decreased compared to a few years back, some people complain that govt. is not happy for old peoples alive upto average 85 years life. Mr. Mori, former priminister even gave a very very rheoteric statement last month..... against those women who have intentions of not having a single kid. He indirectly said they are selfish and burden to society. ............ After water borne disease gone, all these seconday (at the moment) problems will be on front line. The kotha bhitra chhirne bittikai "ampeciline" ko prescription lekhne doctors will have no space in the market. Next generation doctors who know salt, sugar and fat and STRESS/obesity will have more markets than who knows "ampeciline" for any patient for any disease. ............. Those males whose waist looks like apple and those pear females should not consult average Doctor in Nepal. They are horrible, they write ampeciline ................. for everything. GP and Gal1, I am not saying anything against Boomerang. In fact, that" bad food" idea did not even come to my until I read your comments. Food was great and we had a great time there. I am not blaming the restaurant, its food or the service provided for vomiting. Relax! |
