hmmm.. coooooooool. 'Kalankisthan'. Isn't it self explanatory? The real reason was to find my long lost friends scattered around the globe who were lost before and after I came to USA. I thought that when they see 'kalankisthan', at least they will inquire about me and if I get lucky, I might bump into one of them. Call it 'homesick' or 'tolesick', but that's the truth. Haven't really found any kalankisthan-baasi yet, but two brothers. And hey, they are the coolest ones. Seems like none of the kalankisthanbaasi uses the Internet or visit Sajha. Hope to run into one of them one of these days, since sajha is getting popular day by day. I am selfish eh.. and I still have my fingers crossed! ;) |

The story behind my name is simple. As an infant, I used to sleep a lot . . . a lot, lot more than most infants. And so my Mom would often decide not to wake me up, and would let me sleep peacefully for hours and hours. So, looking at me, she would mumble to herself: "Aaaa. . . sutos!!" And, the name stuck: Ashutosh. :-) oohi ashu ktm, nepal |

the reason behind my name is also self explanatory, me thinks. Well, the real reason is: I tend to go against the tide, accoridng to NK. My views are at times what the majority deems unfit and undemocratic, politically incorrect, so to speak.. but, hey that's what I want to do. Stand out with my views and challenge/question the conventional thinking. Because of this, I hardly have any ally in Sajha, so I find myself isolated. And since my views are freaky by some standards, hence, isolated freak. |

Once upon a time Sajha.org used to be known as GBNC.org. There used to be 5 "current users" in any given time. I used to wonder who the other three were. San, I and who are these three lahures I used to wonder and wonder... Many many moons ago I used to be my full name. After Royal massacare, ANA convention, 4,000 usersand what not, GBNC grew up to be a handsome, well-rounded Sajha. In the midst of this my name shrunk to be just NK hoping to be anonymous. HA! Now, that was a joke!! Now NK does not post much but you will see her akal jhukal here and there if you squint your eyes a bit harder. |

on 16-Jul-03 09:37 AM
Nice thread BMWji. I always wondered about names in Sajha and think why the person choose a particular nick name. What was the thought process, scenarios etc. Thanks for starting this. Why Logical Sense? I used to just read postings and enjoy especially Ashu, NK (full name those days..), HG, Paschim etc., but at times the threads seemed to be so illogic that I wanted to jump in. So, I did, and that time there was no logging requirement so we were free to choose a name and I used to post with different names. But, Logical Sense stuck with me longer and again like what NAJAR said when it was time to register, that became my favorite name. Also, I tried to be gender neutral, but, I think I had to give up that pretty soon. Also, one time I used Lami Baje (for my marriage counciling type of column, but, caught red handed by NK even before that name could make an impact that I was Logical Sense). BTW: If you wonder what your real name means you can try this website: http://www.kabalarians.com. Logically I don't believe in this, but it is fun finding the real meaning of your name. I checked for 10 of my extended families and analysis of 8 names were very much in line and seemed alarmingly correct, scary. Enjoy!!! For an example: ASHUTOSH is analyzed as follows "Ashutosh as a first name gives you a very independent nature, yet you are friendly, approachable, and generous. You can be a spontaneous, expressive, and talkative person. Generally you are good-natured, though at times you can be rather blunt and sarcastic. This name incorporates creative, artistic, and musical abilities, and there would be an element of originality in all that you do. You like to do things on the spur of the moment without planning or prior arrangements. Your spirits are buoyed up greatly by encouragement and appreciation. There is a tendency to be scattering in your efforts and you prefer to avoid menial jobs of a routine and repetitive nature. You are inclined to pursue good times and emotional indulgences to excess. Weaknesses in health due to the influence of this name centre in the head. You could experience headaches, or difficulties with your teeth, ears, eyes, or sinuses. Disorders related to the liver, which would be aggravated by rich foods, could also arise. " - iti |

This is what loney means re: (according to http://www.kabalarians.com. Thanks logical sense) The name of Lonely gives you the ability to understand people and to merge conflicting viewpoints to create harmony in association. You dislike facing issues or witnessing hurt feelings. You make friends easily but must guard against becoming involved in the affairs of others or being too easily led. You could do well working with the public giving advice, where you can use your skills in diplomacy in handling people, but where you are not under pressure or required to carry responsibility and make decisions. You find it difficult to make snap decisions and to occupy a leadership position as you lack self-confidence. You dislike heavy manual work; as well, you are inclined to put plans off until forced to take action. You find it difficult to be systematic in business and you dislike budgeting. Without the encouragement of others, you lack the energy, confidence, or initiative required to bring an idea to fruition. This name creates weaknesses in the fluids of the body, kidneys, or glandular system. I yet to find out anything written there makes any sense to me...haha |

Logical ji , that is a cool link u provided there. this is what I get when i type in Marich. do you think those guys know what marich is? no matter, thanks for the link. it does tell me many a matching things about me when I type in my real name..hehe..trikal bajelai dekhaunu parne khalko raicha..Triakla business ghatne bho aba..hehe MARICH:-The name of Marich gives you a very individual, reserved, serious nature. You stick stubbornly to your ideas or decisions, in spite of any appeals or advice; you are not willing to accept a compromise. You prefer to be alone with your own thoughts, rather than in the company of others. This name restricts spontaneity in association and the fluency of your verbal expression. When you are required to express yourself in personal matters requiring finesse and diplomacy, you feel awkward and embarrassed. Although you realize perfectly well what is expected of you, you are unable to find the right words, and hence you end up saying something inappropriate in a candid way. You can express your deeper thoughts and feelings best through writing. Your friendships and personal associations are rather restricted, being limited to those of a similar nature who can understand and accept your rather straightforward yet reserved manner. You are steadfast and loyal, and do not allow gossip or anything belittling to be said against those whom you accept in friendship. You find satisfaction in being outdoors or in getting out into nature, or in dealing with the products of the earth. There is originality and depth of thought contained in this name, particularly along practical and mathematical lines. This name can adversely affect the health of your respiratory organs, the heart and lungs. Also, you are prone to suffer from weaknesses centering in the head. Very entertaining.. |

I was against this registered name system (I have changed my stance now!). I noticed that even a person without registered name can post in that particular section. I tried 'noname'. Now 'noname' has become a name! |

Oys (abbreviation of Oyster) has a long story re kya ajha ;). For me it stands for the moment of truth when I decided to drop computer science and move on. During my sophomore year, the first organismal lab I happen to be in had Oysters as one of the specimens. They sure looked ugly, but the fascination soon grew when I related to the stories of the childhood where fishermen of S. America would dive deep to claim the Pearls of these Oysters. Every Oyster has its timeless pearl. As for me, I felt very empty for around the same time, I felt I had been RIPPED off with my pearl (sook sook). Empty Oysters cannot be chilling.....and sure enough Oys alone could have been a good screen name ( now i realize that THUIKKA) but then, you cannot make it so obvious you are so empty can you now? so mutu mathi dhunga rakhi , CHILL re kya ;) ....has nothing to do with CHILLED OYSTERS ;)......If someone had told me then chilled oysters had aphrodisiac implications ..oh well! As long as there's a group of us, We'd got the world and all its joys, and when the world is through with us, we got each other's helping haaaaaaaand That's the story of, that's the glory of OYYYYYYYYYYYYYYS! ehehe |

My name translated in nepali : "Ooo-ho timi le pani auta khayau?" = Oh You Ate one too. Was suppose to be temporary, coz never intended to meddle in the affairs of Sajhaland for long. Here I am hopelessly addicted. Oys, have you heard of cultured pearls? So what you lost your pearls, you can always make one. I bet you didn't know that ;0) You might have lost your pearl, now don't lose your marbles over it. "Hope springs eternally in breast of men" - Shakes? |
