ANA Convention
Instead of July 4th weekend, why not change the date to Thanksgiving weekend?
A few reasons why I opt for this Date:
1. Thanksgiving is always a FOUR day holiday, unlike July 4th which can fall on sat/sun
2. November is cooler than July
3. November is close to Tihar
4. Less students taking summer jobs, more attnedance
5. Thanksgiving is more appropriate holiday for this gathering, july 4th is more for camping/bbq/fireworks
6. November is more romantic than July
What do you all think?

Dr.D,
All your reasoning seems to appropriately support your suggestion. I just thought of one thing though, which may be of interest to many Guys. November is cold whereas July is really warm, so the girls will be wearing more clothes on Thankgiving than on Independence day. The guys flying from all over the country might not enjoy that a lot. He he he.

ANA convention is good on this regular day.... cause november is cold and its all about rain... beside students can't attend cause they'll be havin finals right after the thanxgivin..... to me July 4th weekend is the best cause a lot of official people or Non-officials (like urs truely) can take the week off from work..... beside u really need at least a week off during hot summer months....

It's the celebration of Nepali in N. Americas. July 4th weekend, just feels right. National Day July 4th in US and 7th in Canada.

Hello Biraders! I is hear about ANA but I is not know what it is. All them peopal talkin about ANA and all them quesions about different things about ANA. I is become happy if you biraders will answer some quesions for I. What is them ANA? I is been here in America for long time now. ANA keep them names of our peopal coming to america like them Phillippine ANA? Them know how many peopal here? OR it is just like them in kingdom? ANA have them names of peopal coming to America? I is know over hunred Nepali peopal but them not know what ANA is. Maybe them ANA is only for peopal going to them Univarsity or them rich Nepali peopal. Now them have to discuss about them dates. I is never hear them ANA worry about my biraders working in them restaurant. I is ask them you is hear about ANA? Them say No. What them ANA do? Maybe I is not unnerstaning. Maybe it ANA only for them America Nepali peopal. You biraders is have knowlege please give I some informasion. I is just wants to tell them biraders what them ANA is. I is been here in America long time but I is never hear no one askin I or givin I any informasion on ANA. It is be helpful for I. Thank YOu

As far as November Phoenix temperatures goes, the average is 75 degrees. That is still much more comfortable than D.C. in summer. Students are often left alone on campus as their American friends always go home for this holiday leaving them with other foreign students on campus. What is Thanksgiving anyway but a big meal. As for the professional referees, they always work Thanksgiving football games. There should be plenty who have not been selected to work that weekend who would be happy to ref. What is so great about the professionals anyway. The ordinary guy with a knowledge of the rules should be able to do the job unless everyone decides to beat him up and call the police. I think Phoenix would be an excellent venue for the Convention.

I think their main priority right now should be to work on the organization of the convention. It always seems like they plan it haphazardly.
