hello everyone,

I need some ideas from you all. In about a month, I will be moving to a new town( 4hours drive from here) for about 6 months. I have already found an apartment there to live in, but it is totally unfurnished. Refrigerator and stove is all that the 2 bedroom apartment has. So far in my stay in US, I have lived in a furnished rooms (university apartments), and furnitures and beds have never been a problem for me. I am wondering how I can escape the heavy cost of the beds during my half-year stay in that new town. It especially bothers me since I will be moving there with my family. Believe it or not, right now, I have just enough stuff that I can fit in my car and take off for the new place.

Is it possible to rent those furnitures (the bed obviously is more that I am concerned about) ? Or do you know of any cheap way to buy them? I know a regular queen size bed could cost me well over $400 and of course it will come with the pain of moving when I move back to this place, unless I can sell it.

Has any of you ever had this problem while moving in or moving out? How did you get away with this? Please respond with any suggestions you may have. I appreciate your responses! Thanks

Observer ji, you might want to try yard/garage sale. I think it should work fine.. don't spend on buying new stuff.. no don't.. it's not worth it specially the furnitures.. No !!check out the local newspapers for moving / yard sale..

Good Luck!!

Observer, try Rent-A-Center. You can rent pretty much everything you need for a temporary home, and I'm pretty sure they'll deliver it too!
