FIRST TIME ON gbnc,a good topic to talk about?ANYTHIN BETTER?

Biswas: Let's forget about politics. Welcome to gbnc. Those who are in Nepal should write about more optimistic things happening in Nepal.

No offense Dum Dum but it appear as if you were on some sort of psychedelic drugs. "Forget about politics?" Gimme a break. Just look for once instead of just gabbing and see how many threads there are devoted entirely for politics? Do you see the urgency and desperation of this posting? "Welcome to GBNC?" Is this some sort of lala land where everybody is happy and in peace and whatever? Really, I hope you were not serious when you posted that thoughtless response. Even if were not discussing about politics here and if somebody wants to talk about it, what's wrong with that? Do you want democracy or not, then if you do, get involved, will you? Or, are you that famous ostrich who likes to stick its head in the sand? What do you mean by "Those who are in Nepal should write about more optimistic things happening in Nepal?" The operative word here is *should.* No Kidding? There is one common thought I see everytime I talk with somebody who is in Nepal. "It is ok now, but we don't know what happens tomorrow?" Do you see the danger of living in that kind of situation? Can you even begin to *imagine* that kind of uncertainty? It is just not fear whether I am going to get that freaking 'D' in my term paper, it is the fear of life, loss of own's kin, terror what could/might happen. Think about it before you start preaching to somebody to talk "optimistic things." yours truly, namita

I agree. Biswas is talking on a completely different level. We need to empathize with him to learn more about his views.

Postings from Nepal - and outside Boston - are of course welcome. Let's learn to be more tolerant of others' ideas. This first-time poster from nepal, obviously distressed at the violence at home, is trying to connect with fellow Nepalis in the US. Biswas, welcome abroad. Go on and tell us how do you feel out there.

Never mind, dumdum, we all make mistakes. You have the grace to admit it. Great.

May be because I'm neither Ashu nor Sarki.
